My dad and I had an argument over "herb". I am from California I drop the "h". He being from NY city pronounced the "h".

Hi! Thaks for this video. I'm an English teacher from Ukraine. I teach in China. I've realized that for chinese learners it's easier to perceive British accent rather than American. I guess that's the infuence of the coursebooks they use for learning English, since they're mostly British. Anyways, I've grown to be able to switch between those 2 depending on my needs)))

I prefer American because British sounds just so silly😂but the problem is in school I learn British English but I have an American accent it’s sometimes really weird and annoying 😂

We pronounce French words such as herb and fillet in the French way (because they're French), whereas, for some reason, the British, who are right across the channel from the French, totally anglicize them. You would expect it to be the other way around.
