Dude, fantastic video. Really like how you did more than simple measuring tests on accuracy than many videos.

Thanks so much. I didn't know glass scales could be custom cut in this way! Very useful.

Thanks for showing how straightforward it was to shorten the scale length. I wouldn't have dared to try it for fear of breaking it!!

Thanks for this video. I have a very old mill I bought a readout like this for. It’s not a standard configuration and mounting the scales was challenging me. Your mounting technique on this little mill got me thinking outside the box and I have 2 axis done. I need to shorten my Y and that’s next. Thanks again for the inspiration!

This is the BEST explanation of installing a DRO on YouTube ... lot of people talking WAY TOO much and not SHOWING any of the work! I’m installing mine right now and just had to stop and thank you for this video ... I bought 2 ... 1 for my lathe and the other for my mill ...I bought mine from AliExpress and got the LCD version

This is the neat and cleanest shop job I ever see in tube.

One of the best videos on this topic. Most of the others spend way too much time on deciding scale location which changes per mill.

that's the best DRO installation and tour of functions video I have seen to date
well done!

Thanks for the detailed fitting all mills are the same as far as fitting position is have a jig borer that is now a mill so fitting is a bit of a challenge in mounting position differences.
wholly applaud the fact that you dismantled the glass scale to cut the aluminium and lastly the glass makes it super easy with the diamond cutter in the Dremel and is far more cannot imagine how anyone could think of cutting through the scale with a bandsaw even though it worked for them.

Great video! I really liked that you showed many of the little "gotchas" that you run into in mounting these things, the clearances, angles, adapters needed...great. when cutting the glass scale with diamond wheel, did you use any water? I made a water dripper from used medical infusion bag and line, which has a little roller to adjust the drip rate...you can maybe get these from a veterinarian?
Thanks...BTW, do you watch ski jumping? Beautiful country you have, sir!

Man, you have some skill! I have unfortunately just bought the Igauging DRO like you had before. I would have bought this if I knew it worked so well, but for now I will live with the other one.

This video is excellent, it never occurred to me that glass scales could be cut to length. Thank you. Oh, and I should say that 'Igaging' is pronounced 'eye-gay-jing'
