1500 miles on my '24 gas. So far, Loving it! Cruises so nice, a joy to tow with when i need it. I rarely tow more than 10000 so it does great. 10-13mpg towing, 17ish empty, similar to my old cummins. Still got my old diesel for when i need to tow heavy

Im convinced anyone who says gas has never had a diesel

Unless you're towing everyday gas is the way to go, way cheaper in the long run and you're saving 10 to 12000 right off the bat when you buy it.

I just purchased the gas with the Allison transmission ! and I love it, I also own a 2018 3500duramax diesel work horse, only good when its good! l, and I will never buy another one in my life! def and cp3 issues ! 60 thousand dollars and truck is sitting ! 7000 in parts and probably same in labor ! with all the issues in the egr and region problems I'm done

I have this same truck, traded my 22 gasser for a 24 diesel. Way better!! And yes, I do a lot of towing. Also to add, the dealer gave me 8 year 100k bumper to bumper warranty. Can’t beat that

The diesels take some miles to break in they get so much better with miles and you JB should now this

Guys spending $100k on a truck and $50k on up for trailers and are nit picking on diesel cost 😂 Give me a break. Yes the gas is good, but the diesel is a beast. I went Denali 3500 diesel, easier fueling and monster torque, works for me.

I can't speak on the Duramax, never owned one. But, I have owned Dodge/Ram diesels since 1999. I was trading my Chevy Tahoe or Escalade that I use as business truck every few years, never getting close to 100k miles, my previous Dodge trucks had 200-300k miles on them when I traded and still had a good resale value. The extra cost in a diesel isn't worth it for people that are going to trade every 2-3 years with less than 50-60k miles and don't do a lot of towing. Don't know about the duramax but with the Ram diesels, longevity and resale value with higher mileage makes a difference compared to a gasser. I have been thinking about trading my current Tahoe for a High Country 2500 or Denali 2500 with duramax, but hesitant.

Add in the extra cost of maintenance over that time for the diesel also.

If GM updates this gas engine, it might be worth it, but at 5800 feet above sea level, I'll run the diesel for my camper and dump trailer. I seem to use that trailer a ton these days.

Engine hasn't been broken in yet.
Regardless... I'd get the gas.
Can you do a Ford comparison the same way?

Thats pretty good for the gasser how about an mpg loop on a zr2 6.6 gas?

I have a 2024 Chevy Custom 2500 Diesel. I love the truck. I noticed that after 5000 miles it got more powerful and much better fuel economy. Do they have it tuned that way from the factory? So a comparison with trucks that are beyond that mileage may yield different results.

Diesels don’t start breaking in until around 12, 000 miles. In other words, you won’t see good mileage until then. All my diesels would get 15 MPG until 12k, in which then I would get 19 MPG

I have the '24 2500 LT Z71 crew cab gasser. I wasn't trying to evade the diesel upcharge, necessarily. It came down to payload (mine is 3, 550 lbs., which is around 700-800 lbs. higher than the comparable diesel), as well as avoiding the awful emissions crap plaguing today's diesels. My gooseneck towing capacity is 18, 200 lbs., a figure of which I will probably never get close. I don't want the headaches associated with those diesels and am very happy with my decision. I currently tow a 10k GVWR fifth wheel and hardly know it's back there. I am likely to buy a 12k GVWR unit soon and have zero concerns about the setup. JB has a point about elevation, but if you don't spend most of your time in the clouds, this truck is a great HD option.

Decision Decisions regen happen very frequently and it cost for sure

I think what u said makes since unless heavy usage it doesn’t make much since have a diesel.

The other thing u mentioned about is keeping on hwy I have 3.0 diesel it like the hwy better plus regen issue with fuel economy isn’t as pronounced as town driving

When are you going to g to test drive the ram 6.4L non power wagon in a Laramie trim

Plenty of good reasons to get the gas truck depending on your use. Oil changes for the diesel will cost you more due to more quarts, more expensive filter. Overall maintenance costs and higher diesel fuel prices can eat your 'savings' right up. There's also plenty of good reasons to get the diesel if you tow a lot.
