I feel your pain Bro. I recently went on a trip in the Stang up past Carlisle PA to see some Mustang family up in the Poconos. Had a GREAT time with tons of other car fanatics including a chance to sit and yap with Carlos Sobrino a NMRA factory stock racer who’d brought his single digit Coyote stuffed Foxbody to our gathering, but I digress…

Everything was going SO wonderful I guess I should’ve known that the shoe just had to drop. Well on the way home it finally did. I was in Virginia and down to a mere 4 hours from home when something fell off the truck in front of me. I couldn’t dodge it because of cars beside me, and I couldn’t slam test the Brembos because I had another semi close behind me so I hit the thing. Happened too fast to see what it was, but didn’t feel like much. A few minutes later my car alerts me to dropping pressure in the driver’s side front tire. I grabbed the oncoming exit and wound up in a small town in western VA up in the hills with a flat. Pulled into a tire shop just before closing and luckily they stayed late for me and were able to run to the next town to grab me a pair of PS4s for the front. Oh, did I forget to mention that when he put the car on the lift we could see the inside of both front tires got chewed up. The passenger side was just a hint better but probably wouldn’t have made it home. And to think I had whined to myself that I hadn’t taken my matching full-size spare ! If I had, then I’d have replaced it on the roadside and never noticed the inside of the passenger tire ! Luckily no damage on the rest of the car or rear tires. $750 and a couple lost hours and back on the highway. Hated to replace them with at least another 10k worth of tread remaining, but it is what it is :)
