He’s been playing drums for over 45 years guys. He’s a master of masters.

Witnessing someone be at the absolute pinnacle of their game, no matter the profession, is extremely satisfying.

The crazy parts, Chad never heard “The Kill” AND this was one take. Listened for like two bars and just went in on it. Masterclass

Watching a master like this almost brings a tear to my eyes. When I first saw this I was in total awe watching him do this track. He's amazing.

This short is missing the best part the video, which where they ask him if he wants one more take since this was his very first time hearing the track. And Chad says, "no, I nailed it" 😂

He’s litterally a machine. This just shows me that you can take a piece of music to him with no drum line. And he can just hear what SHOULD be there.

The most incredible thing about this isn't how close Chad got to the original, its the way he did it.
You see drummers do this and they listen to the song and take notes, they work out timings, work out where the fills are and where the bridge is etc. Then write a part and play it.
Chad started listening to this song, heard a couple of bars and said, "oh it's in 3" and then started banging out a part to it. He anticipated where the song was going, where to raise it up and where to play fills etc just from his knowledge of song writing. That for me was so impressive.

Fucker just knows how to read a rhythm and progress a song and his fill ins are so instinctive and natural and all that is just programmed into his bones at this point, and he looks like he's just jumping on this roller coaster and milking every moment for everything he can get out of it, he's truly an inspiring example of what it looks like to dedicate yourself to what you love the most in life. Amazing..

no.thx.

the fact this was all improv on the spot is incredible. he knew when the chorus was coming, when to place fills, only missed some come downs and bridges by a second or less. dude was just jammin

30 seconds to Mars must’ve gotten 10 million more listens to this song since Chad absolutely killed it

The way he anticipates the fills and crashes in this is beyond talent. It just comes out naturally…

Watch the entire thing at one point he breaks a stick grabs a new one and doesn't miss a beat!! After seeing him do this he's one of the best drummers I've ever seen and that's saying alot!!

Chad has always been, and forever shall be, one of the greatest drummers ever! He doesn't get near the credit he deserves, IMHO. He is a true rock powerhouse!
Thank you Chad for the years of inspiration you've given all us drummers everywhere!

Chad used what he needs and really never over does it in any band.

I've watched this so many times and I still really am impressed with Chad's ability to know where the song structure changes from verse to chorus to bridge. His timing was impeccable. How did he know? Is he counting bars while he's drumming?

I play drums less than 1 year, but I’ve noticed that the drums community is soooo kind.

I’m always inspired and I hope that I will not give up ☺️
