I saw David Lee Roth with Steve Vai on the eat ‘em and smile tour in California in late 1986 and to this day is still the best concert I’ve ever seen in my whole life!!

You gotta credit Roth, he put together a kick ass and talented line-up

Vai’s work on SKYSCRAPER is under appreciated. A brilliant DLR album. The album is better than any post DLR Van Halen slop.

Only Steve knows what it was like to go from playing for Frank Zappa to playing for David Lee Roth. Culture shock to say the least.

Steve Vai seems like a good guy. I read he's a beekeeper, too. That says a lot

Saw Diamond Dave three times in the 80s. Had floor seats for two of the shows--row 3, and then row 5!
You know how many artists will say when on stage they feed off the energy of the crowd, the fans.
I tell ya, being that close to the stage, to Dave, it's the opposite! You can't help but feed off of his energy! ☮️💜

Wish Roth never left VH. Love his solo stuff, but The VH days were historical.

Memories! Getting my haircut at $50.00 from Hot Locks off of the Sunset Strip, and buying my clothes at Flips off of Melrose Ave in Hollywood. The eighties was such a great time to be young, and over 21.

Roth was a STAR the Ultimate Front man . He doesn't get the credit he deserves for making Van Halen a popular band. Eddie was great but make no mistake, Dave got him noticed and made Van Halen the success that it was.
