Basic text guide to follow along with the video:

1. Check your consoles dashboard version. It must be 7371 or below.
2. Check your consoles motherboard type. Xenons are done one way, non-Xenons are done a different way.
3. This set of instructions is valid for NON-XENON consoles only. That means it works on Opus/Falcon/Zephyr/Jasper boards only.
4. Solder in your connections to your JTAG header (NandX wires)
5. Test boot after soldering in the JTAG nand reading wires
6. Dump your nand (twice)
7. Confirm you have two MATCHING nand dumps - If your nand dumps are different DO NOT PROCEED.
8. Test boot after dumping your nand.
9. Build your Xell image and flash it to your console.
10. If you were to test boot at this point your console should not boot - this is because we've written Xell to the nand but not yet done the diode wiring.
11. Solder in your jumper wire
12. Solder in the first diode
13. Solder in the second diode
14. Power up your console, Xell should boot and you get your CPU key!
15. Plug the CPU key into J-runner and build your JTAG hacked image
16. Write the newly created hacked image back to the Xbox
17. Done! Now the power button or controller will now boot your hacked JTAG dashboard and booting with the Eject button will boot Xell

So I just repaired my old falcon 360 and this is exactly what I needed.
9 year old video is still the best video on YouTube for this.
I appreciate the no nonsense approach and including all the info we need.

Went down an XBOX 360 modding rabbit hole and was about to give up. This is the best video on the subject if you're lucky enough to be able to JTAG. And good tip on the NAND-X. I'm usually too cheap, but after seeing how easy it makes it, it's clearly well worth it.

Not only was this a great tutorial, but somehow it was strangely soothing to watch. My inner geek was at peace.

Imagine Bob Ross doing an asmr video on happy treeing the shit out of an xbox 360, jtag style..

Yessir. When I get consoles I often sell them pre-modded, and I also offer JTAG and RGH as a service to do to your console. At the moment I have a pretty neat deal on a RGH1 Jasper - INSTABOOT, works great!

Yes, the yellow wire is ground - you could solder it to the AV port housing as a ground if you want.

Yes, you can use an LPT cable to read and write to the nand - xbins is a good location to find a lot of the files needed for JTAGing.

Yes, there's no real restriction on the type of wire. just something you can solder with easily.

I used Kynar wire to attach to the diodes to use for the JTAG wiring.

Not bad at all, very impressive good vid :). To the guy who doesn't know English TheWeekendModder is right in the pronunciation. I think I speak for everyone that you are very explanatory and calm in your approach thank you.

I had an issue with the wire running from the top of the board to under the board getting crushed when the console was re-assembled. But you know what makes more sense than running a wire around the edge of the board to the other side? *Soldering the wire to the underside point.* The point is a through hole after all, it's the same whether you solder to the top or bottom of the hole.

Cool thank you very much for going to the trouble of putting the video together. Appreciate your methodical and calm approach. Good soldering skills too.

Do just like you do with the nand points and use the scratch pen to take off the top coating, then flux and tin them before connecting the wires.

+DeckedCobra  I'm not sure why I can't reply to your post, but a slim is not JTAG'd it's actually RGH'd. And yes I'll be posting a full tutorial on that very soon.

how can i remove the code from the top layer (3:30) without the scratch pen? like what else could i use?

I'm not familiar with the progskeet line of products, but assuming its just another way to read/write the nand then yes that wouldn't present any problem.

Making sure? The video clearly states that this ONLY works for dashboards 7371 or below. If you have the new Metro UI dash then you need R-JTAG.

Thanks for the tutorial! I got my Jasper all up and JTAG-ed!
