I have been non union for all my time in the trades and every tradesman I know regret going non union. I don't know how it is in other parts of the country but here in Los Angeles, the union is the oy way to get a livable wage, benefits, and retirement.

Non-union is a complete joke. You get low wages, zero benefits, and no retirement. I know guys that are in their 50s and 60s and don't see a day when they can retire and afford living in the United States. All of then being very good workers not slugs or workers who you'd rather not be there.

To all the young guys and girls looking through the comments. If you want to get in the trades do yourself a favor and get in the union.

Look at the averages within and industry and look at the union rate and non union rate. You will see for your own eyes
