For everyone here in the US commenting, you have to remember that Europe is not that much larger than the US. In a week you can drive through 10 countries and see everything from the alps to the green and lush forests of Germany to the coast of France and Italy to the strait of Gibraltar and still end up in London on Sunday. Living in the US made me so unaware of how close everything actually was in Europe until I went there.

That's why if you own a plane your charter it out that way it helps cut your costs down

The only reason to buy a plane, is to rent it out ( hold the value of wealth diversified)

If you don't fly 200 hours a year, you don't need to own it. Or you can try fractional jet ownership.

Not a lot of people know this but 90% of private jet travelers don’t own the jets they fly on. The strong majority of private jets flights are charter. In the United States it’s called Part 135 in the FAR/AIM. If you own your own jet and pay for the crew yourself out of pocket you fly under the rules Part 91 in the FAR/AIM. There are a lot less regulations that cover the operation of your jet under Part 91, but the cost goes up significantly. I know of some people who have 2/3’s of their net worth wrapped up in private jets and it’s bankrupting them because of how expensive it is, but they can’t sell their jet because their jobs dependent on their ability to quickly fly between different cities on the dime. Chartering a private jet is cheaper but it isn’t as fast as owning your own.

It's like $2, 000 an hour on a turboprop.

Iv heard even billionairs say the same thing offcors If you want a rich life style you will pay for it. Why do you need a crew? just serve your self, learn how to fly your self and see where you can get cheap fuel, set it on auto pilot and just relax and enjoy the jurney. Offcors you stay at the cockpit incase any thing goes wrong. You will save tones of money that way or just fly commercial.

He is right. Meet Kevin broke everything down. If you fly most like 100hour a year, then it might be cheaper to own plane. Because it takes about 1mil a year to just keeps it on a ground and about 14k a hour to fly for 9 seater. Have to take of depiction too

The chances of dying in a chartered private jet are far greater than an owned private jet. There is a reason they are cheaper.
