Macron pension reform: Violent protests erupt in France. Militant unions are causing chaos across Europe as workers are led out of the workplace and on to the street. The UK is grappling with ongoing strike action, with a walk-out taking place almost every day last month , and more NHS , teacher and rail strikes scheduled for the coming weeks. But the mayhem isn't unique to Britain. From a nationwide strike in France over a controversial pension system reform - which has led to violent action - to trade union strikes in Italy and Spain , industrial action is gripping Europe's economies. Trade unions are leading workers out in droves to demand better pay and working conditions.

'In France, nationwide strikes are taking place to protest Emmanuel Macron's proposed pension reforms and to increase the official retirement age from 62 to 64. More than a million people marched in France yesterday as part of the national workforce protest, disrupting public transport, school and much of the country's civil service.'
