6 Tips for Faster Switches

This is a summation of things I started doing to get faster and more accurate switches. Super useful information for when you're about to tackle Zulrah, the Demonic Gorillas, or pretty much any of the other end-game PvM encounters!

tip number 7: if you find it difficult to use F keys you can install key mapping plugin to set the hot keys to any button

Added note: If I bring an offhand like a defender, I keep an inventory spot open right under my melee gear for it to get placed into when switching to a 2h weapon, like a blowpipe. Keeps everything neat and organised.

Switching is really easy when you’re not using a defender

I find that moving in a Z pattern instead of a S allows for way faster switching! With S you have to move your mouse into three directions (left to right, top to bottom, right to left) while with Z you have two directions (left to right, diagonally)

Good tip if you are new player to OSRS and are used to playing other MMO/ARPG's is use the Keybind remapping plugin to rebind your F keys to WASD. If you are used to playing other MMOs WASD should almost be the default resting position for your hand so rebinding modes to them keys feel amazing. It will feel supernatural.

For fast switching ur going to want to have the same mouse pattern e.g top/bottom or side/side also the lower the mouse sens the more accurate, just have to get used to it bit by bit

Also I highly recomend using vertical layout, cause this will save your wrist if you doing 1 tick 6 switches.

By using 6 switches, putting potions or spec weapons at the last line at the right or left.

Did not know about anti drag, that helps so much! I was wondering why sometimes I couldn't switch when I know I clicked it but I guess I was micro moving gear instead of actually getting a good click on it!

Soon as I learnt to use the mouse to control the camera routine, thought I start using F-keys and I started using the same ones besides if needed. I have put spell book on F5

you forgot your off-hand mage switch. Mage switch is usually the odd ball

Man this was so helpful. I always wanted to try gear switches but was always lazy and just used void for easy switches. Plus i also didnt know what switches to bring or were worth bringing. Im gonna try to practice 4 way switch at zulrah and then try out 6 way switch. Hopefully i can get Tanzanite mutagen. Very good video!

thanks for vid, i'm just getting into mid game pvm and i keep forgetting to slow down and practice. will just sit in ge and do switches for a few minutes before trying muspah again.

For the shortcuts add F5 as the logout/worldswitcher tab, helps alot with wildy or if your spamming world hop buying out stores all that

I definetly prefer clicking my gear in a zigzag instead of a snaking pattern because it leads to less drags and i can go way faster without worrying about dragging gear

Seems like the issue I have is when I do my switch’s my stuff seems to get switched around in the invo but I think that’s from me switch from like range with a bowfa to Melee with a defender

my biggest issue is switching between 2handed gear to a weapon and offhand and back. Itll work at the bank fine but if you drop items or pick up items then everything moves around. I don't see this happen when i watch good players play but i cant figure out how you're supposed to set up and click so this doesn't happen
