I never comment on movies, etc. And in my 74 years I’ve seen a few. Many with Emma in them. I wish I could tell her directly what an incredible job she did with this very layered story. Perhaps her best, showcasing her extraordinary talent. Also the young man was brilliant. He took what could have been coarse and brought tender joy to it while with one look could reveal his own personal journey. He should be proud he held his own beautifully with a legendary actress. Only 2 actors in one room for the whole film. The subject matter may be controversial. It should not be. As a happily, satisfied, married woman of almost 40 years, it still resonated and both characters found me connected with their journey. This may not be for everyone but I still say, it is well worth the journey of watching. Just incredible.

Emma Thompson deserves an oscar for her powerhouse performance in this role. She was beautiful, captivating, and had an amazing presence throughout the movie. The character she plays is very complex and this demands a high degree of performance skills that can only be attained through years of acting. She had great comedy timing throughout the movie, as she always does. There was a real honesty in her role. What I mean by that is, when I watched her, I really believed she was that character, and not Emma Thompson. This movie clearly shows the true commitment that Emma Thompson gives to her craft. She is well and truly one of the all time great actresses.

I loved everything about this movie. I really didn’t want it to end. I forgot that it was just the two actors for most of the movie until new characters showed up towards the end. First time watching Daryl McCormack and I’m beyond impressed. He played “Leo” so well that it didn’t feel like he was acting.

This movie is just what any woman that has doubts her self body needs to watch! I love how LEO, tells Nancy that she is beautiful and that we all should cherish the body that we are given. This movie was tastefully put together. There was even parts that made me tear up a little. <3

Still remember nannie mcphee a few years back so i wanted to see this movie without watching the trailer im so happy this movie was beautiful. Truly a phenomenal watch as a 21 year old woman it made me feel better about well everything. Absolutely FABULOUS film. Brilliant performances from both Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack. Great script from Katy Brand. Great direction from Sophie Hyde. This movie is more important than people might realize. It shows the true nature of the honest, helpful side of sex work. In its simplicity, sex work is very much a part of human health care. Very similar to good nursing, or good mental/physical therapy. It's about time that we supporters of legalized sex work totally destroy the myth that sex work is seedy, shameful, or drug infested. Nobody in this world deserves to be lonely. Marriage should NEVER be a prerequisite to sexual fulfillment. Single people DO NOT have to be alone ALL THE TIME. Nobody deserves a life without orgasm and/or sexual pleasure. Nobody should go through life without experiencing some version of intimacy, even if you have to pay to experience it. Much like a great massage or a good workout at the gym, sex work can be life changing, body affirming, and mentally stimulating. This is a great movie that addresses several of these ills in our society. Brava to all the creators!
