Who wants all that process food from McDonnell's and Burger King, with all that nutritious real food, not subsidence, delicious Mexican food?

A lot of the Mexican people that I know have a business in the US and Mexico. They all have dual citizenship and bring money back and forth when it makes sense. One of my friends owns a small Taqueria in the Chicago area. He also owns cabins in Mazamitla. When the pandemic hit and the exchange rate hit around 24 to 1. He saw opportunity. He moved money to Mexico and immediately started to build 24 more cabins when his Mexican business was essentially making zero pesos. Now that business has opened up he is sitting pretty renting out all his cabins. I asked him why he keeps the American business open and he smiled and told me that his little American business still makes more cash than his bigger business in Mexico. Long story short, smart business people know how to make money in many environments and deploy their capital where it makes the most sense.

What I like about Mexicans who are doing well they remain low key. Showing off is not cool there. This is why you sometimes see a real nice home in the old neighborhoods where they grew up. Instead of moving to a fancier area they just fix up the old house. A lot cheaper than buying a new home & they most likely inherited it for free!

You're on point. I travel to Monterrey all the time. It's just as expensive as San Antonio, Tx.

Hola Jose,
I can confirm. I live in CDMX, not in an expat area but in Col del Valle centro. It is a really nice neighborhood. There are many, many luxury doorman buildings. Tons of high end German cars. Fancy restaurants are full of diners. Brand new gigantic beautiful high priced supermarket just opened down the street. But basically zero Americans or Europeans are here. It is all locals.

I’ve been watching your videos since last year when I came to Mexico and opened my eyes an had a thought of moving here as I just brought my fam to move to Mexico 🇲🇽 and we feel happy here and feel much more home than what we use to in the USA 🇺🇸

Love your content Jose.
You’ve hit every truth that some haven’t considered. The Us Dollar isn’t as strong as it used to be, and with immigration never getting any easier here in the US, and racism exploding, there isn’t much of an incentive to stay here and people with money, that they have been saving for years are going back to Mexico and uplifting their families. I’m not mad about that for them. They built up our Nation, it’s time that they build theirs.

Love your drives through Merida! I haven't been back since the pandemic and I miss Merida and the area so much. I was noticing the gentrification issue in Mexico happening back before the pandemic and it made me wish that I had spent more time in Mexico when I was younger. Hopefully the world economy will relax as time moves forward and we can get back to the days before high inflation and low supply-high demand of products and services. Don't know if you have, but you should do some videos on the markets in Merida and outlying area. Always found the markets fascinating. Saludos!

What happens when the younger generations no longer want to do manual labor just like in the US and Europe?

The positive enengy of Mexico is appealing and White Americans and Canadians have been in the know how great it can be to live in Mexico for years. As far as Mexican-Americans moving to Mexico, I think its great only if they could leave their poisoned American mindsets in the US.

Great video Jose. I really have the feeling that you are understanding what is going on in Mexico. You are right, the expensive cafes and restaurants are not full of Americans etc, but full of Mexicans mostly. The tide is definitely turning here. Very helpful to know and understand this.

Some parts of your city do look not very different from "Monterey highway" street in San Jose, CA south of downtown
