Q: What's the best way to introduce solids?
A: Here are some tips to get your baby loving all types of foods.

Follow baby's cues. Feed her when she's happy and eager to dig in.
Start with one meal a day. Then move to two (one morning, one evening). Eventually, she'll be eating three meals a day, with snacks in between. Incorporate breast milk or formula before or after the meal.

Q: How much should my baby be eating?
A: Here's a breakdown how much you should feed baby throughout his first year.

4-6 months:
24-36 oz breastmilk or formula, or 5-8 nursing sessions
+ 1-4 tablespoons of cereal, 1-2 times/day
*Solids before 6 months are optional
+ 1-4 tablespoons of fruit and veggies, 1-2 times/day

6-8 months:
24-36 oz breastmilk or formula, or 4-6 nursing sessions
+ 4-9 tablespoons of cereal, fruit and vegetables, 2-3 times/day
+ 1-6 tablespoons of meat or other protein each day

9-12 months:
16-30 oz breastmilk or formula, or 3-5 nursing sessions
+ 1/4 - 1/2 cup each fruit, grains and veggies, 2 times/day
+ 1/4 - 1/2 cup dairy foods, daily
+ 1/4 - 1/2 cup protein foods, daily

So, who's ready to eat?!
