Gaandhār was in modern－day Khybêr Pakhtuṅkhwā {erstwhile N·W·F·P during British Raaj era}. Purūṣhapura {पुरुषपुर} was also located therein. Takṣhaśhilā (तक्षशिला) was one of the most important cities within Gāndhaar.


Kāndahār is in presentｰday eastern Afghānistān _in and around_ the Helmand river *and the* Arghandāb river.


Gāndhāra wasn't actually in Afghānistān.

Much rather, Gāndhāra was in present--day Khyber Pakhtuṅkhwā region {erstwhile N∙W∙F∙P during the colonial period}.

However, that doesn't mean कि Afghānistān wasn't a part of Bhārata. Afghānistān *_was indeed_* a part of our country.
