I remember on the first day of one of my college classes, some kid stumbles in 10 minutes late, disheveled, and then trips. Everyone laughs and whispers making fun of him. I just thought: "Yeah, that's me right there, awkward and weird, always the one they pick on."
When it we picked our lab partners I made sure to buddy up with him. We were friends for almost 20 years until he had to move and we lost touch.

I consider myself very lucky that I found my weirdo early on and we've been best buds since highschool. I remember it fondly: we were in science class and I thought "are you familiar with the mating rituals of salmon?" was a good opener... turns out that was peak comedy to him aswell! And the rest is history :)
