Drupal Vs WordPress - Which Is The Best CMS?

Drupal vs WordPress, here is the comparison for the best content management system and why you should choose it. What do you think?

WordPress and Drupal have big communities behind them, they're highly customizable and offer a wide range of features which can be extended with Modules/Plugins.

Drupal offers a lot of features out of the box, such as page caching, and a lot more. It is a flexible system, and once you master the ropes, you can virtually create any genre or nature of website using Drupal.

But WordPress is still highly usable and in a better overall situation than Drupal. It is more popular (and therefore better supported), and easier to use and deploy. By using the right combination of plugins and themes, WordPress can serve your web design and development projects very well.

In the Drupal vs WordPress comparison for the best CMS we’re probably a bit biased, in all honesty… but we are looking to read your opinion in the comment section.

Drupal is a CMS framework where as Wordpress is not. It's often important to develop an interface that your clients will find easy to use when updating their sites. Drupal offers maximum flexibility in that regards as you build the CMS for your clients. There is a steep learning curve with Drupal but then once you can leverage its power it's worth it. If you're not a developer I would stay well clear of Drupal.

Comparing apples to oranges. Drupal is far more powerful. It takes some effort, but once you get how the system works you realize how much you can do with it.

This has so many spelling mistakes it makes you really question the level of research that was done

The Wordpress has lot of plugins but in actually it is only Content Management System. Instead of this the Drupal is a Content Management Framework a cool tool for development anything. Idea to compare them was wrong initially. It looks like to comparing a plastic picnic cutlery with the real Swiss knife.

A lot of things wrong in this video. You did not say anything that really distinguishes either on SEO besides quoting some guy at Google who said Wordpress is good. Drupal has several SEO related modules as well. WP out of the box has terrible security (e.g. zero brute-force prevention). You absolutely need the several specific plugins for a basic level of security in WP, and many developers don't know what that mix is. On the last point, upgrading Drupal can be super easy when you use the command line tools available. The fact that Wordpress encourages in-place plugin and core updates right on the file server pushes you away from proper version control, and is inherently insecure as it requires that the application files be writable by the web server (this is just asking to be hacked).

well I say it's not a bit but lot bias. This is point of view of a non developer. For developers the comparison should go with expandability and the architecture of the platform which I never saw in this video.

What Search Engine Optimization provide Wordpress, that Drupal doesn't?

Clearly they are not comparing d8 to latest WP. Drupal hard to maintain / update? ... simply use composer.

Some truth in this, however, about customizability, wrong...Drupal is the swiss army knife of CMS. It is much, much, much more customizable and powerful than word press, light years away, like 10 times more at least. If anybody has even been in the backend of Drupal with rules, token, entity etc...you will agree with me on that;)

The more number of plugins the more http request which may slow down your website and wordpress mostly depends on plugins. I find performance issue with wordpress but not with drupal which also impacts on the website seo.

Drupal for Developers and complicated websites, WordPress for Regular users/Bloggers, and simple websites.

I was excited after trying out Drupal. WordPress was originally created for blogging, not for what a lot of people use it for.

While Drupal feels integrated, WordPress feels bloated and disconnected.

You can install as many WordPress plugins as you like. You still only get the post and the page content types. Each of those with only a Title and a Textarea to barf all of your content into. The best part is you can choose when people get to start seeing the content, but not what nor whom.

Drupal can have as many content types you want, with as many different types of fields you need, and the ability to pull and display the information however and to whomever you see fit.
All of that, straight out of the box, from the admin area.

Yeah, you're right, WordPress wins.

One other question. Why do all of those WordPress books you mentioned make you feel like they should have come with one of those fat preschool pencils?

I might be biased as well, but noways for most of the things that average user need WordPress works best, however for enterprise websites, situation might be different.

It is very subjective, I (and I think any developer) could do such comparison, where Drupal is the winner...
