The original sounds like 80s with some modern beats and this version sounds like 2000s and it sounds like a good combination.

When I listen to the original I think that it sounds "nice." When I listen to Audra sing this cover I get chills. She owned it.

In my opinion, Anti Hero is the best self-loathing anthem. She nailed it with the introspective and self-critical thinking. I’m sure everybody can relate to this song. Also, Karma is a pop banger. It really showcases the “good karma” is real, the compassion, the integrity, the dedication as human being. Karma makes me feel like the all the pain I went through was worth it. It’s all gonna work out in the end.

I think for me Midnights just feels like an epilogue of sorts. A lot of the album seems like she’s getting some lingering feelings off her chest that must have ballooned up having to go back and re-record her previous albums and revisit old memories and old wounds. I believe She’ll continue exploring the sounds and storytelling elements for her up coming projects. Well, “Midnights” already placed in my Top 5 Taylor’s discography. Not gonna lie, so many songs from “Midnights” are such grower, but I’m pleased and I appreciate how introspective and self-critical she can be.

As a songwriter, she’s far ahead of where she was even four or five years ago. Many music critics praise Taylor Swift’s discography as one of the statement stated that “Taylor Swift’s discography display storytelling prowess and genre-bouncing genius”. And I kinda agree with this statement. I think for me it’s ok if you dislike some of Taylor’s project because I do too prefer some of her project over the other, but as a whole discography, I think it’s very strong, and I hope Taylor keeps making ground breaking project after/between rerecording (we never know). I learned so many things from her discography, as her call it (eras). From musical stand point (lyrics, melody, composition, instrumentation, etc.), Business stand point (Marketing strategy, Decision making, social media usage, etc.), Legal/intellectual ownership. She really puts so much effort and really pay attention to the detail about color composition each of her albums, specific clues, dress code/costume themes, visual (videos+performances), etc. And the most important things, she really stood her ground for keep being humble and relatable and really resonate to our own lives that really show from her lyrics and her behavior.

I am from Brazil, I heard this version by First to Eleven of Taylor Swift's song "Anti Hero." So, I went to read the lyrics and translation of the song, and despite its danceable vibe and cheerful beats, the lyrics actually depict a very different reality. I think everyone has felt this way at some point in life, like the source of all problems and simply wishing to leave so that they would all end. Very sad!
