BIDEN DISCUSSES COVID-19 PANDEMIC, LATEST UPDATES: President-elect Joe Biden delivers remarks on the nation’s battle against the coronavirus pandemic. Axios reports that his speech will touch upon the increase in new cases and deaths the country has seen lately, ‘call out the Trump administration for falling short on the pace of vaccine distribution, and will discuss his own plan to get people vaccinated as quickly as possible.’ Biden will also stress the importance of maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, and following other guidelines despite the nationwide vaccine rollout. Pres. Trump has not discussed coronavirus publicly since the election.

Over the weekend, Dr. Anthony Fauci told CNN that he continues to be worried about a ‘surge upon a surge’ following the Christmas holiday. ‘I share the concern of President-elect Biden that as we get into the next few weeks, it might actually get worse,’ Facui said. COVID-19 has infected more than 19.4 million people across the country and killed at least 336,529.
