Enercept SIP panels meet & exceed stringent requirements by the International Code Council (ICC).

Structural insulated panel wall systems have been included in the International Residential Code (IRC) since 2007. Inclusion in the IRC recognizes structural insulated panels as equal to other code-approved building systems. Section R610 of the IRC provides a Prescriptive Method that allows builders and design professionals using SIP walls in residential projects to show equivalency to the IRC without conducting or supplying additional engineering.

Enercept started as a subsidiary of Energy Concept in 1981. With the vision of crafting a future in manufacturing structural insulated panels, founder Harold Henley dared it all. By 1982, Enercept, Inc. built a 26,000 square-foot facility of their own design and products in Watertown, South Dakota.

Our SIPs are high-performance building panels made with an expanded polystyrene (EPS) rigid foam core sandwiched between two structural skins of 7/16″ oriented strand board (OSB) used in floors, walls, and roofs. Enercept’s standard 6″ SIP wall has an R-25 value, and we additionally offer R-40 or R-50 panels for your roof. Every panel is custom-manufactured to fit.
