Family shares story of overcoming sexual addiction

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A local family is sharing a special story of hope for this Father’s Day weekend.

They want others to know there is such a thing as “sexual healing”.

“We got the most amazing news in the world that we were pregnant. I was the happiest woman in the world, and then later on that evening, it went from the happiest day of our life, to the hardest day,” said Erin Wilson.

When Local 12 first introduced you to Erin and Scott Wilson a few months ago they shared a very personal story that nearly cost them their marriage.

“The lord takes you through a lot to heal, but it's worth every bit of it,” said Erin Wilson.

Scott said he was destroying lives due to a sexual addiction, and after multiple extramarital affairs, he and Erin sought help through Pure Life Ministries in Williamstown, Kentucky.

“Pure Life Ministries is a Christian counseling organization for people who are dealing with sexual sin. We've got a nine-month residential program, a three month at home counseling program for men and women who struggle and then also for wives,” said Nate Danser of Pure Life Ministries.

This week, Nate Danser from Pure Life, along with Erin and Scott, returned to Local 12 studios to share more of their story, for Liz Bonis’ Sunday morning program “What's Happening in Health”.

While they all admit every story is different, this Father’s Day weekend, they want others to know that there is hope for those struggling to stop unhealthy sexual behavior.

“I’m really probably thinking I’m always going to be this way, because I was like that, but I want people to know that there is hope,” said Scott Wilson.

“I’m a living testimony of what God can do, and he can change hearts, my heart, my husband’s heart,” said Erin Wilson. “It is better everything, across the board, the way we parent, everything it's just better.”
