Elvis died on my mom’s 17th birthday. She told me that when she sitting on the swings at the park, waiting for her boyfriend, he walked over to her and said “Did you hear the news?” And she shook her head and said no and then he sadly said “Elvis died.” My mom was devastated. 😭😭

I lost my grandfather when I was 9, and I had no concept of death or mourning. I remember being so confused about how I was supposed to feel. I went off with my cousin and started playing and tried to get away from my family all crying and being upset. I wanted to go to the church carnival that night. I had no idea what was happening and just wanted to feel normal. So I totally understand Lisa’s reaction.

Yes, the world did mourn together. My husband walked through the door. I saw his face. I looked at him questioning and he said, "Elvis died." Two words that changed the world. He took the kids. I sat with my head on the kitchen table crying till the next morning. My friends didn't speak that week. Nobody felt like talking. It hurt too much.

Elvis was just human like us. Just because he was a star didnt mean he couldnt die.

i cant believe that Priscilla has the time to give interviews almost everyday. And often they are all about the same subjects.

Also Austin could use a few pain killers after he tried Elvis moves on stage. He said he could barely walk and hurt so bad he couldn’t sleep. Elvis got old and couldnt do what he did onstage without drugs. That’s it period. However someone should have stepped in and fired Parker and sent Elvis to rehab.

My heart goes out to Vernon and little Lisa Marie thinking about this day. It's funny how peoples stories change over time. Maybe she was hurt and confused about what happened that sad day. Only a couple of things match what she says in her book, Elvis & Me. I was watching videos and she said three different things that was in her book. She said she woke up with an uneasy feeling on August 16th, 1977 and felt like something sinister was going on, in the video she said that she had an appointment. Then she said her and her sister were going shopping that day and as soon as her sister Michelle told her Joe Esposito was trying to get in touch with her that she knew that something terrible had happened.

I think Ginger said Priscilla was bitching at Elvis that day because he hadn't sent Lisa home and that he owed her money. He told her he was waiting for Sam to get back to Graceland because he always took Lisa home. Ginger said they were not having a great conversation. Priscilla was also asking him about money he owed her. Her daughter was in shock and she didn't know what to do. She was alone. Even during the funeral Priscilla wasn't taking care of her, she was visiting with guests that were there instead of keeping Lisa with her and training her about how to handle it, how to mourn, and keeping her close to her. It only proves Lisa (as she said to Ginger and Linda) that she didn't think her mother liked her. Lisa was right. Priscilla hadn't spoken to Lisa in 8 yrs. and after seeing her at the GG looking the so ill, she never took care of her. Lisa died alone. Priscilla did her duty announcing her death, but she never said one kind word about Lisa at her funeral. She read something one of the twins wrote. Ben spoke for Riley. Not one word talking from Priscilla praising her daughter or saying anything. She also brought Navarone and Lockwood to Lisa's funeral when Lisa asked that they not be there. That's Priscilla's legacy to her daughter. Elvis knowing what she did to Lisa, Elvis would say heck no she's not being buried next to me.

There is and will not be another singer like Elvis Presley
“People come into your life for a reason. They might not know it themselves, why. You might not know it. But there’s a reason. There has to be.” – Joys of life. “Some people come into your life for a reason, some a season, and some a lifetime.” – In 1974 in Las Vegas -Before Elvis begins to sing this (midnight) song, he said Listen Priscilla very heartfelt. 🖤⏲🌑Gone, but not forgotten.🙏
