I am so thankful to these guys because I have panic attacks, and I was immediately out. So great full to them.

I've had propofol 4 times. I'm terrified of medical procedures and the first time, I was so scared of being put under that tears were leaking from my eyes. A very compassionate nurse put her hand on my arm and said "just let go, and the next thing you know, I'll be right here telling you it's time to wake up. Like no time at all has passed." That's exactly what happened. Like a curtain came down, and I was out. Wonderful first-time experience with any kind of anesthesia.

I've had a few surgeries. The anesthesia never made me nervous, in fact, it helped with my anxiety so much. Anesthesiologists are angels!

I am a RN. I had propofol once for a colonoscopy. They told me they were administering it, and I woke up what felt like a second later. I was like when is it going to start. I was in day surgery, and they were telling me to get up, walk and void.

I’m impressed too! I think I got the words “this is good” out and I was out. Calmest 2 seconds of my life! No wonder MJ liked it🥺

I just recently had open ❤ heart surgery.

I was under for around 5 to 6 hours.

I was talking to the two surgeons while they were preparing me for surgery and I don't even remember dropping off.

I have been put under twice before for minor operations and remember dropping off.

Not this last time.

Powerful stuff.

Thank you to the staff in Cardiff Heath University of Wales Hospital in the UK.

I’m glad you made the comment about certain people using it irresponsibly. I’ve heard so many people say that they’re afraid of it BECAUSE of that. Maybe it’s harsh, but I tell them ‘Don’t let one persons stupidity scare you, it’s safe when you’re in the proper setting with a team of pros.’

I suffer from panic attacks and I am afraid of Needles. So, my first experience was really bad. My nurse had promised me to give me gas before they put the IV. The anaesthesiologist refused to do that resulting in me having a full blown panic attack and them getting angry and swearing while calling me a stupid child. I was so lucky that my nurse managed to come in the prep room in time and help me out. She was an angel! She gave me the gas while holding my hand and reassuring me everything will be alright! I remember her face slowly fading away and then her voice slowly be coming a slur. And then I woke up in a different room and it was all over! My second surgery was an emergency one and everyone was very nice and supportive.

The few minutes of anaesthesia I had for a minor operation was the best sleep I ever had. I had so much energy for one day❤

Its like a super deep sleep where you don't even remember falling asleep, and when you wake up you feel so rested but tired

My whole surgery experience is one of the reasons I don't dislike my nose job, We went out on a sunny day, with my mom, the clinic was beautiful, The view was absolutely lovely, the nurse took such good care of me, talked to me so I wouldn't get anxious, gave me a pill and I was asleep, one of the best naps of my life, then it was time they gave me the injection and before the mask touched my face I was OUT, I was so out I couldn't wakeup in recovery everything was blurry, and anxiety was nonexistent for a few days after.
I'm normally a very anxious person and in the first few days aftee I did not give two f's. I would just drink and sleep.
Talking about it I kinda wanna go back

They gave me it for my IVF egg retrieval and I guess the anesthesiologist said I respond like a redhead but also it was the best nap of my life. I was only out about 30 ish minutes but it felt like I slept the most rejuvenating 8 hours of my life.

I always wonder how can people fight the effects of anesthesia. The only time I was put under it I was out cold in a moment. Saved me from a panic attack tho so I'm really thankful for how quickly it works.

I had surgery to remove a cyst on my thyroid when I was six years old. I was scared and I thought that if I didn’t go to sleep they couldn’t do the surgery so when they gave me a shot in my room they were surprised I was still awake when they came to take me to the OR. They wheeled me down the hall and I was shaking my head to avoid going to sleep. Last thing I remember they were lifting me onto the operating table. Just couldn’t last any longer 😊

Last time I was on anesthesia and I just saw the trippy wobbliness of everything and said, "Ope there it is. Goodnight everybody. It's nap time." And then I passed out.

When you have the kind of insomnia that makes it hard to fall asleep, there's no nap quite like an anesthesia nap.

I actually woke up once in a surgery. It wasnt scary or unpleasant. I couldnt feel anything i just remember hearing my drs voice saying the anesthesiologist s response...seeing his eyes look into mine as he very calmly said ok hun its a bit early were almost done and i was out again before he said the word done. Lol ive always had a really healthy fast processing of stuff. I was an athlete and a bellerina until my 20s. All 3 of my children the hospital staff would say to each other that my body with its muscles and flexibility was textbook on how giving birth should go. My 1st labor was less than 3 hours. My 2 nd...i was wheeled into hospital entrance at 11:30 and my son was born at 12:15!😂(I almost gave birth to him in the hallway between the labor and delivery room! Lol luckily they were right across the short hallway from each other) And my 3rd we induced so neither my husband or my ob would have a ❤ attack 😂. I highly recommend getting the epidural 😏 the surgery i woke uo in was in between my 2nd &3rd( removing an ovary w cysts and a dermoid as it turned out. He came to check on me later...and said " if u ever go under for anything again, make sure u tell them this happened" and he asked if it was scary. I told him no, u were so calm and told me exactly what was happening so i didn't even have a clue to panic😂. We had a good laugh when he assured me that he was definitely a bit surprised but that hed been doing it for so long...that he knew he could panic after the procedure 😂 i had never known that during surgery the anesthesia dr. Stays and monitors BECAUSE of that. We are so lucky( as a human race) to have people that have this as their career thank you for all you do for everybody all the time❤🤗🥰

My surgeries are for pain conditions so I fling myself into the void. One, for not feeling pain for a little while and two, knowing some pain will be gone after the surgery. My butt never fights it.
