You compared the Steam Deck to a Switch Lite. This is an objectively flawed comparison. When comparing it to the normal Switch, you’ll see that all of the points against the Switch remind but the point about price changes (since they both cost the same amount, $400).

Next, while it does fall under piracy, you can emulate Switch games extremely easily on the Deck and bypass the stupid modern issue of companies making their games exclusive to a console for no good reason. If you feel bad about “stealing” from a billion dollar company, you can just buy the game physically so you’re allowed to emulate it since you own it.

Also, they are definitely both portable, save for the extra step of putting the Deck in its included case before putting it in your bag, which is more of a plus since Nintendo doesn’t include a protective Switch case, opting to make it an extra purchase.

Finally, intimidating? Really? It sounds like you were just trying to find a third con so the Deck seemed equal to the Switch in number of cons but the Deck is definitely not “intimidating”, unless devices that don’t look like the toys Nintendo makes scare you.

you can get mario and other switch titles on pc if i remember correctly you can have a steam deck run windows 11 and you can emulate all your favorite games from the switch and even runs better

These comments are forgetting the fact that the deck is like what, 450-600usd? And a switch is only 140 used? hell, you could get one in decent condition for even less. And even then, not all steam games work on the deck. Sure switch games can be pirated on the deck but not everyone has the time and energy to sit down and watch a 15 minute tutorial and then spend another 30 minutes looking things up and downloading files. In the end, it all depends on what you want out of your system. The deck is objectively better, but the switch is a solid choice if you're just looking for a portable system.

Switch Games were designed to be able to run on that hardware, and the SteamDeck was designed to run heavy games. Depending on the Game, I use the SteamDeck or the Switch. Emulation is ok but it’s still buggy.

For me personally, I use both, since my deck mostly replaced my ps5 and is too large to have in my pockets for day to day travel, while the switch is amazing for JRPGS, so I’d say both are worth it, and the deck serves more as a Pc in bed type experience

i'm not exactly a gamer, but i love gaming every now and then (if that even makes sense) so that review is quite an incentive to go for a switch imo. i don't want an intimidating and bulky console, specially if i'm not going to dedicate a lot of my time for it. i want something cute, customizable, portable, lightweight and it would have been amazing if steam deck was like that (ofc, i wouldn't have to pay twice for the games lol)

Switch lite vs steam deck 😂 I’d rather have a switch full used model with the oled screen. Looks better weighs less, cost less, tons more accessories available and you can also mod them.
