Water-based vs Oil-based paints - Which One Should You Buy? (Which is the BEST OPTION for You?) Welcome to our video. Today we will talk about water-based vs. oil-based paints.

The main difference between water-based paints and oil-based paints is their eco-friendly nature.

Water-based paints are better for the environment. They are safe as they contain little amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). They also do not pollute the air as they do not emit any odor. On the other hand, oil-based paints are not eco-friendly. They have high levels of VOCs and hence emit strong odors that can be unbearable to sit in. Therefore, water-based paint is the best option as it is eco-friendly and safe in a household.

Similarities
Both oil-based and water-based paints contain volatile organic compounds. They are also both washable.

Only thing about oil based that gets old is cleaning the brushes. Other than that, it’s outstanding paint that holds up. I’d never use anything else on cabinets.

obviously oil based is much better but only certain ones now a days. if water based was better then the paint industry would have just developed water based paints of their own back instead of being forced to in recent years. oil based paints at least good ones are normally hard dry in 3-4 hours recoat is 16-24 hours not drying and clean up is no worse than water based paints if you know what your doing
