THIS Killed Steve Irwin and I Pet One ☠️

Sailing the Bahamas, we found stingrays swimming close to shore. They were really wanting to hang out. So I tried to pet one and THIS happened. Luckily I didn't end up like Steve Irwin, RIP. He seemed like a really great guy and it saddens me to this day that he's gone.

Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray but they believed the stingray mistake him for a reef shark.
He was following the Ray and they think the Stingray saw his shadow and assumed it was a Shark, and went into protection mode.

Ray did not realize it was a human.

I missed Steve Irwin I loved his shows and Terry once said if she was being confronted by a T-Rex she would rather have Steve Irwin than anyone else by her side

I’ve stepped on them jumped off fast never got stung. I’ve only been stung stepping near them entering or exiting the water. Stay far away and have fast reflexes. The second u feel that cartilage move your foot up asap fast. Went through my surf booties…I hear fisherman boots are the only thing tough enough to stop the barb

One of his best mates I mean his best mate is Wes but one of his best mates said hang in there Steve think of your family. Steve said no I'm done for mate. It's unfortunate that the greatest of all time died in agony.

Stingrays are gentle!! but they will pierce your heart if you step on it, swim in front of it or over it!

I once touched a North Sea stingray in the wild and they are pretty chill and if you can’t find one in the North Sea but you wanna pet them go to dolfinarium in the Netherlands they have them!

My friend got stung by a stingray (or manta ray) on his birthday right in his foot and he was in the hospital for days losing almost gallons of blood.

I’m not a big fan of sting rays as when I was about 7-8 I went to rosebud (it’s a place in Victoria) and we were out on this boat thing where we’d go and swim in the middle of the ocean and everyone was looking at the sand and was like “oh there’s a stingray” and it was right below me and I freak out but like I just went back on the boat and got really scared!
