Good on both players. Edler standing up after the questionable hit and Wayne not taking it to far after he turtled. Great sportsmanship.

They both knew it was coming. He answered the bell, and now all is settled. Fair play.

Edler doesn’t fight much. No surprise that was one-sided. Good on Edler for answering, and good on Wayne for standing up for his teammate. Hopefully this puts that incident to bed.

Wayne Train still laying down the justice. Miss this kind of grit in Philly these days. Good on Edler for taking his medicine. Respect.

Edler knew it was coming. Good on him for taking it, good on Simmonds for sticking up for his team mate, and we move on with hockey. Go Leafs Go!

Alex showed big stones and answered the bell first shift. Simmonds showed restraint knowing Edler is not a fighter. Good good

Wish Canucks Signed Simmons .... Every team needs a guy like that ... Keeping them honest is what I call it

Edler had to answer for his hit on Hyman when the teams last played, good on him not to back down & also good on Simmonds to stick up for a sidelined teammate as well. This should pretty much put any lingering animosities aside now. :-)

This is why Simmonds is my favourite player on the Leafs. I was getting his jersey anyways this year, but this seals the deal.

Been a lifetime fan of the Canucks, never seen or heard of Edler's reputation of being a dirty player, the guy didn't even throw his gloves but knew he had to pull them off and answer for his actions so at least give him that...
Edit: And props to Simmonds for not killing him 👊

Good for Edler for fighting. It’s the proper respectable way to answer for his hit on Hyman. All is right in the world of Hockey!

Elder’s suspension should have been longer. He made an identical dirty play on Eric Staal at the 2013 World Championships. It was no accident. Good on Simmonds for standing up for his teammate. That’s an element the Leafs have needed for years.

This is incredible how much Wayne Simmonds can fight anybody even if his weight is only 182 pounds. Edler is one inch taller and 30 pounds heavier than Simmonds. Wayne Simmonds fight almost alaways much moore heavier player than him and find a way To win the fight everytime!
