Humanism is the philosophy that says, “Man is the measure of all things.” Today, R.C. Sproul explains that when we place man, not God, at the center of our thinking, humanity loses all value, dignity, and meaning.

I want to learn more about this. Praise the mighty name of the Lord. Have mercy on me, a sinner who is only saved by grace thru faith. ❤

Secular humanism describes itself as noble and enlightened, disguises itself as sentimental and feelings-oriented and ineffective, and is one of the most damnable trains of thought from within the past 1000 years.

The whole starting point of humanism is wrong because it has human beings and not God as the centre of things. In this sense it is kind of infinitely arrogant.

Right, as I’ve heard it put variously, humanism is either Christianity without Christ, or Christ without the cross

It’d be great if you could post a link to the teaching series (or the YouTube link if it’s up there) to watch the whole video!

If 'Man is the measure of all things' is true, it would mean everybody's opinion or way of seeing truth is correct. If that is so, I can also say that I am the measure of my own wisdom and knowledge, so why do we still need to learn or teach others?

The entire reason:
The only reason Jesus came into the world was to appease the wrath of the Father toward us so that we might be saved. Jesus came so that we would know him and the Father. He told us that it was God, his Father, who had sent him. Only this is eternal life (John 17:3). Jesus said “all that the Father has is his, ” because God has placed all things into his Son’s hands (John 3:35), but it is God's power and spirit alone in Jesus that does all. Jesus said “the words that I speak to you, I speak not of myself, but the Father, which dwells in me, HE doeth the works” (John 14:10). God walks and lives in all who belongs to him (2 Corinthians 6:16). Jesus is not God.
