Just to be clear, my sandals are ~10.5 inches in length, from tip to tip. (I normally wear a men's 9.5 shoe size.) The consensus in the comments seems to be that with upkeep and preventative care (like reinforcing the soles), your sandals can last 5+ years. And while I didn’t do that (and never claimed to), I agree that it’s sound advice. Finally, some viewers have accused me of lying, but I stand by my reporting: two months (not weeks) of full-time RV living; that means active, everyday wear, often with dirt, gravel, and the elements, all along the Pacific coast. Thanks for watching.

My 4 year old arizonas had less wear than your 2 month old ones. Crazy

You’re not supposed to run a marathon with these.

You can take birks to any cobbler and they will fix whatever you need. They have all the necessary components. So if you need a new sole they will just peel the old one and put a fresh one on. So they will be like new but your foot is still molded

I have my Birk for 8 years now and I havent have any significant damage on the outsole. Maybe it depends on how rough a person use the Birk. The shoe cobbler can easily replace the sole with a Birk rubber outsole.

I have had mine for two years and wear them everyday and, they don’t look that bad

My birkens have seen over a year of hard wear and the sole is barely worn at all. I don't know people wear them out so fast.

I forgot to mention that you should not wait till it wears to the cork get a cobbler to replace the sole before that

The heel is the first thing to go. I see this often. I would take it to a repair shop and have them put a thicker durable piece on the heel to make it last longer

What I did was stick masking tape around the heel then applied Shoe-Goo to build up the heel part. Surprisingly, the fix lasted longer than the original rubber.

I have a pair that I got in 2016 and wear regularly in the warm weather and mine look fairly new. The pair I got in 2019 can pass as new if I can rejuvenate the suede footbed.

I had the same experience, brother. Wore them for two months and completely falling apart. If you’re planning to wear these daily, I wouldn’t recommend that. Seems to retain moisture and causing it to wear out even faster

I'd love to know what people suggest as alternatives. I'd be fine paying more if they're really going to last

I bought one today n the seller has given me a sprayed to spray on the top of the sole of the sandal if my feet or sole sweats to avoid blackening or darkening of the sole.

My birks were not durable. They broke down after a couple of months of light indoor use!!

I got an old bike tire and cut out a nice reinforcement piece for the heel on my shoes it works a treat and the bottom will never wear out on the heel !!!

I love my Boston’s.
I use em around the house and just to the grocery store really.
But the soles are just about done after around a year and a half.

The suede cleans up good too.

But I will say $160+tax is steep. And they’re never on sale. Unless it’s a hideous color.
Considering getting a thicker Vibram sole put on instead of the same cheap rubber.

Their price has doubled from 64 to 120 € since the company has been bought. The quality has not. Thanks for making the new shareholders happy with your purchase!

You can take those to a cobbler to get the soles repaired or the cork replaced. It only costs a few bucks
