I'm totaly agree with you way of thinking : old gears still do very good job for a sweat price.
I just received an Olympus e-m5 mk2 in a very good shape for less than 300 euros. It's realy a little Olympus e-m1 mk2, same functions but smaller and more functions than i can use.

I watched this video when I first started photography a few months ago, and got an E-M1 mark 1 after seeing this (and many other videos) saying how good it is. I have to say I absolutely love it still. I ended up getting an E-m1 mark 2 for cheaper than a mark 1, so now I have both, and love them. The e-m1 mark 2 is my main camera, and my e-m1 mark 1 is my backup. Still easily gets the job done now in 2025. Cheers and thanks again for the great videos

The EM-5 MK II is my all time favorite Olympus Camera. 📷 But the EM-1 is still way ahead of its time. Shame that OM Systems isn’t swinging for the fences in terms of innovation.

This was my first Olympus camera and this is why I’m completely hooked, I take this camera with me every day and it’s a joy to shoot I’ve been blown away by the quality of the images I get from this camera and I’ve had two full frames from other popular companies. I would recommend this camera to anyone even in today’s market.

I had two original E-M1s (still have one of them) and it's all you say it is, and truly is an amazing value for the money today. I have to say, though, that I think the Olympus E-M1 Mk II is probably one of, if not the best, overall bang for the buck used camera available today. It has several major upgrades over the Mk I, including a 20mp sensor, much faster processor, High Res 80Mp capability, and much more. And, clean examples doesn't cost all that much more than the Mk I. It might make for an interesting video if you were to compare the two. Thanks for an excellent presentation.

my Fuji X10 now sells more than when I bought it. I have the OMD-EM5 II and its a great camera. Do that next so it will increase in value.

Hi Tom, I owned this camera, purchased it brand new back in the day. This omd Em1 original has one serious flaw, the left lug will eventually come off when you least expect it. This can cost you more than the camera body alone if a valuable lens is attached. Olympus made up for this design flaw with the much better omd E-M1 mark II in 2017, get that camera instead, you will thank me later.

My personal favorite, especially for street photography, is the EM10 Mark ii because It's a little smaller than the em1 but still has most of the features. Paired with the a good lens, it slips easily into a coat pocket or just carry it with a wrist strap since it's small and light. 3 function buttons that you can customize to your heart's content, a tilting screen, built in flash if that your type of thing, image stabilization for good low light performance, good battery life, sturdy construction, and of course great image quality. The best part is, I just bought a second one for $210 usd on MPB. It was in "well used" condition, but it's essentially in perfect condition, minus a weak battery door latch... slapped a piece of tape on it and called it good. I seriously can't recommend this camera enough.

Fantastic camera I've had for years as my main body. Mine started developing the notorious shutter locked closed issue. A simple smack to the bottom of the camera always got it unstuck, it rarely happens but out of the 20 times this happened it always fixes the issue. The only way to have this issue truly fix the issue is to send it to OM system and have the shutter replaced, but isn't worth it for the price of another body or a used em1 mark 2.

Bought one last year for a good price. Very happy with it. Great EVF, very fast AF, nice image quality, great IBIS. Nothing to complain about for me, I'm very happy with it.

I bought the OG E-M1 new but cheap as a display model. Loved it at the time but hadn’t used it in recent years until a few months ago when I stuck a compact prime on and started using it again as an everyday carry. It’s still the most comfortable camera I’ve ever held, light and a joy to hold with that perfect grip.

I’ve had an EM-10 for ever and it’s just a joy to shoot. It’s the build quality, controls, feel, and weightlessness of em is what does it for me. The 20mm stays on it almost all the time (the lens cap 8mm or unimpressive 14-150 do make appearances). IQ is not the best and the dynamic range is poor, but in controlled or decent lighting, this thing dominates.
MFT definitely shines with primes as you’re taking a big hit with the smaller sensor but there are piles of cheap f1.7 primes to be hand for about 1-200$ USD. Battery life is decent too

Great Review. Thanks for that. I bought a used EM1 Mk2 and am very happy with it. For the non Pro Lenses I like using my EM5 Mk3
