Google's decision to discontinue support for certain features on Nest devices has significantly diminished the value of my investments in three Nest Minis, six Nest Hubs, and two Nest Hub Max units. These devices were cherished by my family, particularly for the entertainment they provided through interactive games. The abrupt removal of these services feels unjust and undermines the trust placed in the brand. It's reminiscent of selling someone a bacon cheeseburger only to reclaim the bacon after they've taken a bite—an act that would rightly lead to customer dissatisfaction in any other industry. Yet, the tech industry often operates differently, leaving consumers feeling exploited and disheartened.

This feels paid for by Google. The nest hub and speakers have been progressively getting worse and wirh removal of key features i dont see how anyone can recommend these devices

I’ve had one since it was called the Google Home Hub. It is in our kitchen and my spouse uses it as a timer while cooking and also to look up recipes and it gives you step by step instructions. We honestly love it. You get all the information you need at one glance…calendar, weather and news. But I’ve noticed Google dropping features…it worries me that they’re going to pull a Google and scrap it. I’ve always had a Google smart home, devices even a Pixel. I’m starting to wonder if we should make the switch to Apple home honestly.

I have the Gen 2 in my office and the Gen 1 in my bedroom. I use both of them every day for lights, alarms, timers, etc. I use the one in my office to do my everyday tasks, whether calculation or quick information needed.

Bought my daughter a nest hub 4yrs ago and she still uses it to get ready every morning. During the day, its a nice looking photo frame and a music player while were cleaning. Sure, GA feels a bit stagnant lately but it still does the usual daily tasks well!
Years later, 4 smart speakers, 3 smart TVs, 2 cameras, a full spread of plugs and lights, thermostat and Home Assistant later (lol), still appreciate the Nest Hub most.
Looking for a Max on good enough sale to buy 2 and retire a couple Home Minis.

I've had these since it's launch, the gen 1 is still going strong. Great for basic home controls. Got them in every main room. If they start losing anyone of the automation I use, I'd move all my automation over to Home Assist, and use the hubs to display it's interface. I'd actually like to move over to home assistant, but the deconstruction and reconstruction of half my automation would be a lot of work.

As of now, the majority of my home controls goes through tuya and onto Google home for the main UI. The kids and wife can handle the basic UI the hub offerers. But usually they use voice commands. And I have a few things automated.

If nothing else is a 40 quid (on eBay) it makes a fantastic stunning photo viewer, alarm clock and radio.

I have one in every bedroom in my house and they're great, really useful and my family use them every day for lights, music, alarms and timers. I have the Hub Max in my Kitchen and Living Room for the additional features and cameras. I started with just one Google speaker and slowly grew my smart home over time. I've gone all in with the Nest Doorbell & Heating controls. I also have Chromecast in every TV in the house, so the Hubs control the TVs too.

9:45 I’ve had a nest hub max since release and have had no problems. Also got plenty of nest audios around the house too.

I have a mini and fancy this as an additional hub. However, I do worry about it being a waste of money if Google doesn't invest or support it's use in the future.
I also have a chromecast attached to an old TV, which has proved useful.
Still seems expensive if I can cast phone to TV.
Thanks for the video, but I'm still on the fence.

It is also connected to your Google photo albums and you can so easily download all your photos and enjoy your memories.

Who said it's not worth it? I have this one and it's amazing!

I’ve been a loyal supporter of Google Home and its devices, my first one being the Lenovo product. I agree 100% that the Next Hub products are great, Google’s support for them is a different matter. I also have a pixel tablet and am completely baffled by how it doesn’t work as well. For example, at the end of my night time routine, it asks me what time do I want the alarm to be set. The Pixel tablet responds with I can’t understand you when I tell it them time I want.
Looking at the Echo hub, I’m beginning to think that Amazon is getting home automation right as Google is driving off a cliff.

I love my nest hubs! I've got a large one in the kitchen and the small one in the living room. Even when you aren't using them they are great because they act as a photo frame and show weather info.

As a current owner of this Hub DO NOT BUY IT.

Its the worst product ever released from Google. It's slow and clunky, the assistant is terrible, it's actually degraded so poorly it was exchanged for another. The new one worked for about the same time then slowly degraded again.

I have a very specific question about the Nest Hub Max regarding watching content; If I'm watching a YouTube video (or any other type of content) and I pause it then leave the room (or just ignore it) for a long period of time, when I come back the the Hub, can I continue where I left off? Is my content still paused and ready to play?

The thing that really infuriates me about my current assistant (Amazon Echo Show 8) is that no matter what your settings are, if you pause anything for more than 10 minutes, it returns to the home screen, and you have to go searching for the content you were previously watching. INFURIATING!

How do you stop a webpage you have asked google to go from timing out back to the clock or going blank?

I managed to start using my nest hub as some sort of stream deck to control my computer. It's been a fun project giving a new life to the expensive egg clock 🤭 I have a couple of shorts in my channel about that

Its great. Google can find the best music I like and play it on YouTube. It makes specialized search. YouTube is playing all day and night. I never turn it off except for the time I go to sleep. It also has a sunrise alarm and a snooz alarm with a variety of sounds. I like the speaker, you can listen to the music playing when you are in another room also but it's sweet and not describing.I Don't use the YouTube search even if U can!I use the voice command only which is so easy to find and play a Playlist!I will buy another one!

I got both the Nest Audio and the Nest Hub for 130 euros a couple of years ago and I still love mine. We have our nest hub set up in the kitchen. Its great for showing timers while cooking, listening to music or podcasts and even a device where I sometimes cast my media to.

The Pixel Tablet is WAY too expensive for what it is in Euro-land. Why a 499 dollar tablet ended up costing 699 euros (749 USD) on this side of the pond is still beyond me.
