This is not a car that I would have ever made fun of; New or otherwise...What a BEAUTIFUL ride!

Charles, if you had been there in 1958 to be the frontline ad man for Edsel to promote the line, Edsel would still be around today!

Considering the truly abysmal, style-free state of contemporary automobile styling, this care is a masterpiece on every level!!

The blue colors, especially the dark, are fantastically beautiful.

I was 11 when these were released. I talked dad into taking me to the shopping mall on the release day, where they had two on display. I got to sit in the drivers seat.

Charles I think people like you and I enjoy these cars so definitively for spiritual reasons. These cars represent a time when people had love and integrity. Only 70 years ago people cared about what they stood for. I need it to be 1959 again just like you my friend. Please keep the commandments and get close to CJ, the King of Kings so we can work and play in the glory of his kingdom instead of meeting the sun. Keep Saturday holy and may courage and truth be with you my beloved brother!

That car is fantastic! The Edsel was so far ahead of it's time it's incredible. The Edsel also has such sleek body lines with that horse collar grill, just a beautiful automobile. HA! and you got to drive one, NOPE, i'am not envious.

Stunning Edsel Citation! I owned a 58 Edsel Ranger for several years and it was a blast to drive, even though it had the column shift automatic instead of the Teletouch. The column shift was a short lived option when the 58 Edsel was first introduced but was rarely selected as most wanted the unique Teletouch. This beautiful Citation would be a dream to own and drive, thanks for sharing the very detailed video, brought back some great memories!

The interesting thing about the 1958 Edsel lineup is that the "senior" models (Corsair and Citation) weren't just longer than the junior models (Ranger, Pacer), due to the usual expedient of a longer wheelbase, but also wider, by just over an inch. The senior models were built on the larger Mercury chassis, while Ranger and Pacer used the smaller Ford underpinnings. Despite being virtually indistinguishable except for trim and rooflines, the senior and junior models used entirely different body stampings, with no panels or glass interchangeable. Edsel station wagons for 1958 used a Ranger/Pacer front clip, with the tail being a thinly disguised 1957 Ford. The "Climate Dial" HVAC control is the same setup used in 1958-60 Lincolns, with ductwork integrated into the dash. Then for 1959 and 1960, Edsel reverted to the clunky under-dash factory air units used by lesser Fords. As well as a very agricultural-looking exposed shift linkage that ran parallel to the steering column.

1958 my birth year, a shocking amount of dated over embellished designs were produced…..Oldsmobile, Buick, Mercury, Edsel, Lincoln, Dodge, Plymouth, and, of course Packard. Yet I grew up loving all of them. They were all so over the top in their presentation and the interiors of the high end models were stunning examples of post war design, material, and detail. This Edsel 2 door hard top does it all! Great video presentation!

Another beautiful looking car! I've seen 58 Edsels before, but this is the best looking Edsel I've *ever* seen! Behold, the glory! Even 62 yrs after it was built, it still looks awesome! I know, right?! I love the fact that it's a non-smoker car. No huffie puffie in *this* baby. :)
