Did Palworld REALLY copy Pokemon? #shorts

Firstly, i don't think immortals fenyx rising is THAT blatant. It's definitely unoriginal but they didn't copy designs from my understanding (i just found it unbelievably boring so i'll continue to poke fun at it)

I don't think using other game mechanics should be considered "copying". For those who don't know, Pokemon was inpsired by both Dragonquest and possibly SMT Persona. Difference here though is the designs are vastly different.

I genuinley love palworld and I'm actively avoiding playing it cause it feels like I'd get addicted to it real fast lol. I really do think it's a good thing for the Pokemon franchise as a whole and while it's cool for the Palworld devs to achieve such success, my nerdy ass is just hoping this makes future pokemon games better.

As for the copied pokemon designs...that I don't like at all. I don't really care who is copying from who - I just don't like people using other peoples designs like that (and if you can't tell, I'm not the biggest fan of AI for art either lol). I seriously think the game would've succeeded just as well if they made completely original pals. Alas, let's hope Nintendo's legal assassins don't go too hard here cause there are way too many people that are loving palworld right now and it would be a shame to have anything happen to the game

I've played both, and they're quite different. Palworld has proven themselves enough to not get sued by the Pokémon company.

I feel like a lot of people have been conditioned from childhood to recognize pokemon. I mean the TV show literally had a social conditioning intermission mid episode to see if you could tell the outline of a pokemon. If you get outside of that thought process and look at the game on its own, you'd be better off.

I think the main problem isn’t with the game mechanics, it’s with the fact that a concerning number of the Pals look like they just took Pokémon models and made *super* minor changes.

it's not about gameplay, it's about copied assets from pokemon for the pals. A lot of pals are basically 2 pokemon combined or multiple pokemon assets combined.
