It's just so nice to get a Bowers and Wilkins sound system in this segment.

This looks and drives fantastic. My only issue is rear passenger space but other than that, great vechicle.

Dream car here .... I just specced one very similar with 19-inch wheels for about $58k. The B5 sounds a little better in this video than the supercharged T6 in my grandmother's 2018 XC60. From how much I enjoy that car, I'm sure I could really get used to one of these!

I'm supposed to be the natural buyer for this. Good, comfortable, modest on gas wagon. But then, there's this really annoying trend : getting rid of all physical buttons. Gosh, it's annoying.

Physical. Buttons. Work. They're simple to use, they're simple to repair, electronics are easy to access, etc. Now, you have to... (playback the video)...go through four f'n steps to get to your dimming lights for the instruments. I mean, who in his right state of mind, around the designing table, said that was a good idea? Please fire that person on the spot.

I mean, it's a lot of money for such annoying details. I know they're details. But how can a carmaker seriously look at you in the eyes, say their priority is safety...and then proceeds to hide a DIMMING LIGHT in the 4th step of the menu? I don't have tough requests: I want to safely dim depending on the ambient exterior lighting...while NOT taking my eyes off the road for 12 seconds.

Is it really too much to ask?

...Rambling done. Thank you for reading.
Gosh, I hate that trend with a passion.
AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON PIANO BLACK.

I mean...am I completely in the wrong to think that a Cross Country version of a vehicule should be beefed up, easy to use and not a hassle to deal with?

I clicked literally just for the Audio review. I hope you include it in a night driving video? When I heard the Bowers and Wilkins audio system in the XC60 a few years back it instantly became the benchmark for all car audio systems for me. I know what it sounds like but I want to have it videoed for comparison to your other great car/audio reviews!

My favorite line from the Nicholas Cage classic Gone in 60 Seconds:
"Every time I drive my Volvo down in Beverly Hills, shit gets towed."
That line pops into my head every time I see a Volvo. They should've used that as the official tagline.

Volvo gives me a feeling of driving in Europe. Idk why those German rivals do not have such a feeling.

It's a beautiful car Chris but it sounds terrible! The most interesting part of the video for me was when you popped out the cup holders in the backseat. Looks like they reminisced and returned the pop outs like our 850 fronts. I hope you still have yours you haven't mentioned it in any recent videos. Great video as usual!

Could you start incorporating Audio demo's into your videos? Woulda loved to hear your opinion on the sound system from this car into this new V60 even if it was for a few seconds

Great review as always. This may have convinced me that if I'm going to spend money for a new car, this just could be worth it! 🙂I want the space of a SUV, but something that drives like a car! Thanks.

I was wondering why there was no steering feedback when you drove into those nasty holes and uneven parts of that backroad- then I realized that this is electric steering and that the steering wheel is actually not mechanically connected to the steering rack at all. This works well in situations like this and you won't get that much vibration back into your arms and shoulders unlike some of the old-school trucks and cars that still do.

Very nice review with lots of spec details and your personal take on the vehicle which is appreciated. Might be a great buy as a certified preowned to eliminate some of the initial depreciation hit. I've seen some of the Ultimates going for $50K with only 8K miles or so on them.

Almost all the cars you drive have hoods with shock absorbers and l think that’s a nice feature.

It's a shame there aren't more reasonably priced wagons in the US. I would buy an Outback and keep the extra $20k.
