Prof Boer’s perspective is very similar to mine in regards to our views on China. As a Canadian Chinese who immigrated to Canada at a very young age, I studied Western Literature and immersed into Western culture, however, because of deep fascination about my own Chinese heritage, I read and studied many Chinese history and philosophy which brought me closer to my homeland.

Ms. Liu Xin is absolutely correct, the world will be much better if we’re able to take in the best from every culture and peacefully coexist.

Unfortunately, as Prof Boer stated, most of the people in the west (Eg Political Elites and Media) has very little interest to learn about the East, particularly China, their unwillingness to accept and acknowledge the new world order is making it more difficult and dangerous in the short term.

The culture, philosophies and ideologies are so deep rooted that they become so habitual and common sense in the governance for thousands of years.

An interesting interview. Appreciate the in-depth thinking of Prof. Roland Boer and the thoughtful questions from Liu Xin.

It's a pity that not even one current Western politician is willing to think a bit deeper and have the courage to speak up for the sake of humanity!

It would be fantastic if most of the politicians were willing to take the best from every culture and peacefully coexist.

Prof Boer is always a great guest. I’m trying to remember if it is Prof Boer who in another, older discussion suggested that the ongoing success and rise socialism with Chinese characteristics was not inevitable but rather as a constant self analysis and critique by the CPC itself; that the wheels of the whole system faced dangers along the way especially in the hyper growth periods.

The reason China doesn't "play the game" is because they enjoy adult leadership.

You add "chinese characteristics" at the end of any idea and it has nothing to do with the original but pretty unique different system in China. I wonder why they are so stuck with the words, just admit they have their own system, no need to pay lip service to other systems.

I know this is unrelated but why does the guy look like megamind tho??

Ok, let's pretend China is a peaceful country that doesn't want to be a world hegemonic power. When it turns out to be untrue, we will be able to say all great powers are the same.

A lot of waffle. He just made up words to try and minimize china’s growth and try to minimize the socialist point in the Chinese system.

Chinese System? It changed after different leadership on stage. What is the Chinese system during Teng after Mao? Still many people were wearing blue or green colour clothings and riding bicycles. Food and meat supply were short and not enough. Why? Trades with west and America were still banned especially machinery and equipments. After year 2001 China admitted WTO, trades with the west and America accelerated, GDP increased year by year exceeded INDIA and Russia. Can capitalist system work when trades are banned?
