In this video I am exploring the rural areas of Hunan and Guizhou Provinces. It is all about the ordinary life of the locals in the area, especially farmers. They harvest vegetables in the remote areas and come to the cities by train to sell it. It's an amazing experience to be surrounded by so many farmers.

When the moment i saw so many uncles and aunties carry their goods getting out of the hall to the train. I really can’t help myself for crying. It reminds me of my grandfather and grandmother who used to do the same to earn money to raise the whole family for kids. Asian parents and grandparents are really do the best with their whole life for their kids. I miss my grandfather and grandmother. Blessing all elderly in the world!

I'm from Taiwan in my 40s. I cry so much watching this video and I don't really know why. I love the smiling faces and kind words of the elderly in this video... It brings so much warmth and delightfulness to my heart. I wish the politicians would stop sensualizing political disagreement and promoting hatred among people here in Taiwan. I feel culturally and emotionally close to the mainlanders...and I hope we'll reunite as one big family one day....

I recently learned that “have you eaten” is a common greeting in China because in the past people didn’t have enough to eat. It is so sweet and generous of the farmer to offer the little piece of bread that he had

We always take things for granted when living in a comfortable life. Seeing all those silver-haired people rushing around earning for their life I couldn't stop tears from welling out from my eyes. Highest tribute to them for upholding their dignity at such old age.

I just notice that even in such rural villages in China, the streets and alleys are almost spotlessly clean and hardly see any rubbish. Together with the crystal clear water canals and tall mountains in the background, it looks picturesque actually. These are places that foreigners like us won't know how to get there since it's not on the usual tourist routes. So I really appreciate such vlogs by local tourists like Yan and others who know their own country better and show us another charming side of China other than Shanghai, Beijing, etc

Im just another random person from the US, but something I really enjoy about this video is that it’s focused on the immediate living situation of these people. No focus on political systems, no fear mongering, no “othering”. China is a massive country with a massive population, but its so hard to find videos like this that show the day in the lives of people without all the extra baggage that comes with discussing China in the US. I’d love to see more videos of this nature. Rural, suburban, urban, I’ll take it. Just keep doing what you’re doing.

I was born in Taiwan, but my father was from mainland China. He brought me to rural China in 1990 when I was still a child and I didn’t know much of the culture and history. I grew up in USA and didn’t have much chance to go back to China. My dad always loved watching videos of China. He just passed away last year in his nineties. I’m very thankful he had brought me to rural China, as well as other places in Shanghai, Beijing, Great Wall. Your video is like my dad letting me know from heaven how it was, and it is as if I went to rural China with him again, since I didn’t go with him more often in the past. I want to dedicate your video to him so he can watch along with me, wherever he is.

I almost shed tears while watching this video. They are over 70 years old, yet still hardworking, carrying loads of things to sell. Huge respect to all the Chinese grandparents. May they always have the great strength to work and lead a happy life ahead. It is amazing that the government provide such economical transportation for farmers. It's cheap and convenient and good for environment removing the need for many trucks.
