In this tutorial I show you how to see FPS in any game with NVIDIA Overlay. For this method you will need the new NVIDIA app, which is similar to the GeForce Experience app. Using the NVIDIA overlay you can see your FPS and other useful statistics in game.

Using the NVIDIA overlay is a good way to ensure you can see FPS in any game. As you can set the FPS counter to be turned on it will show up for whatever game you play. Additionally, this means that you can place the FPS counter where you want it, and have it in the same place regardless of the game you are playing.

Additionally, the NVIDIA overlay can be toggled on and off using a keyboard shortcut. This makes it incredibly easy to hide the FPS overlay if needed.

When using the NVIDIA overlay to see your FPS you have a variety of options to customize the overlay. Not only do you have extensive control of the FPS counter position, you can also select a layout option. This is how your chosen stats, or FPS counter will appear. Linear is a great option if you only have FPS enabled. However, you can use stacked or another option if you have more statistics selected.

You also have the choice of visibility options. The standard option will have the FPS appear as just text. However, if you select the enhanced visibility option then the FPS will have a dark box behind it to make it easier to read.
