In today’s tutorial I’m going to show you how to properly eject a USB flash drive from your Windows 10 computer.

When you eject a USB storage device properly, Windows ensures that all data being written to the device is completed and saved before the device is disconnected. Improperly removing a USB device while data is being written can lead to data corruption or loss, as incomplete write operations may leave files in a partially written or corrupted state.

*To get started:*
1. You’ll want to go into the Windows start bar, and type in “File Explorer” and click on the “File Explorer” application.
2. Once file explorer opens up, scroll down on the left hand side pane, and right click on the USB storage device you’re trying to eject.
3. From the context menu, click on the “Eject” option.
4. Your USB device will now be safe to be physically removed from your computer.

And it’s as easy as that, safely ejecting a USB flash drive from your computer is a simple task to perform.

The web advice I found says there is no eject button, to turn off the device before removing it. Thankfully I was using an e reader this time.

As usual I need a tutorial on where to find the usb in my laptop to safely remove it, instead I get a comprehensive blog video on _why_ I want to safely remove my device from my HP windows PC. I'm not an idiot. I just don't know where they moved it to as it's not available in the usual spot. Thanks.
