They should add an eject button for external devices. The files app is so bad it freezes and becomes so laggy as soon as there is load like copying and reading files or opening share sheets for large files. Its bad idk when they will fix this. Doing anything more than accessing some small sized files is practically max the iPad files app can do

Just close all of the apps transfer, make sure about this, turn off your ipad, then you can eject your flashdisk safely

Light never stops flashing. Your advice doesn't help me. I'm not using an SSD as an external drive.
I'm using a spinning USB 3 one. Light just won't stop and I don't want to cut power to it while it is flashing.
