Hi Tara! I see your point and as a fellow vocal coach and Christina's huge fan I totally agree that this song is not gonna be everyones cup of tea. To me it's a good song to show creepiness of a fun concept that Addams Family is. I don't think it was written for charts. I love seeing Christina in more theatrical shoes and the vocals were even more expressive as she was playing character. So many creepy laughs, tone changes, breathy notes, whispers, growls, range and more. It was a great vocal performance and show that is hard to top.
I'm excited for her new albums. I saw her in Manchester last November (3rd row) and she was stunning!
All the best in 2020! I like your videos and definitely gotta check more!

Can't believe the essence of this performance went straight over your head. The growls were obviously intended to enhance the nature of the Halloween song. She is 100% playing a character. It's quite obviously exaggerated.

You can be a bit slow sometimes, like when you were too focused on Kelly Clarkson's vocal technicalities in 'Piece by piece' rather than focusing on the beautiful, emotional performance.

I'm pretty sure this is from The Addams family (2019) soundtrack, so the gritt kind of makes sense considering it's for something of that nature; though, I so agree with you and the fact that this is not one of her best song choices.
