A year later I still love my PRS SE Paul's guitar and even got to play gigs and studio recordings with it

I haven't seen anything that Paul's put out i wouldn't own..he stops on the black..was looking at the neck ..but he says tuners😅

Model and price? Just bought a Custom SE w/ Floyd Rose locking trem. for $899 + Cali tax.

With CAD, C-in-C cutting and modern facilities throughout the world, build qualities are stronger than ever at even really low price points. Paul isn't the only one but he has taken full advantage. I believe even the cheapest PRS will be a soid heirloom guitar as time and playing work their magic into the woods.

Great looking axe, you've reignited my interest in owning one for sure! I'd swap a gold colored bridge to make it pop even more. Diggin' the MOP (?) inlays. How much is it?!

This was one of the best "platform" guitars I've worked on in twenty years. Right now it's the ultimate sessions/grab-n-go guitars. I'm not a fan of the mini toggles, if there's one aspect of PRS guitars that has always made me think "WTF is the reason for this???" It's the control layouts. The Master volume/master tone layout on many of their models should have been done away with decades ago IMO. The DGT layout should have been the standard layout for the CU line.
Anyway, i removed the toggles; drilled one hole a bit wider and put a third pot in it's place, so it's two independent volume controls and a master tone. The thing about this guitar that for some reason is rarely spoken about is the fact that it's a one piece neck. It was the only SE with a one piece neck until the DGT came out. This is why both guitars are slightly thinner than all the other SE line guitars. It's harder to find a piece of lumber that will work for a one piece neck, making it thinner makes it easier to find lumber that will work.
It was an odd choice to do a DGT for the SE line because the Core DGT is basically a McCarty with a tremolo, so it's a thicker body. Still great guitars. 👍

my SE Zach Myers came with black tuning knobs and pickup rings and the guitar has creme the tuners and pickup rings w/ creme and the guitar came together fully. There are some really odd choices on some of these guitars from PRS...

Nice guitar but I would much prefer a natural wood finish on the back to the all black. Why they do that I’ll never know. I think some places like Gibson when they make a mistake with the back they instead of fixing it, which could take a while, they just paint it all black. But yes would much rather have a natural wood finish on the back for sure. My les Paul has a nice top but the back really pops. I know people can’t see it when I’m playing but I can. Lol

It needs different knobs . But otherwise awesome guitar. My se Santana is my main guitar for gigging this would be a good one too with the coil split .

Silly question, besides the looks what are the difference with say the 24-08? It really reminds me of that one because of the 2 mini toggles😮

I would snap that up in a heartbeat if it came with a natural back for sure don't like the black or dark backs. Definitely prefer a non painted neck 😊

The tuners are great despite the reviews and I think the knobs are to blame, some might think they’re cheap plasticky looking. As an SG owner who hates neck dive, I know those molded on tuner knobs are light as are the kluson-y tuners themselves, so I dig ‘em a lot.
