I found the first 3 hardcover Dandelion Dynasty books at a library sale this past weekend for a dollar each. I immediately put them in my bag. So excited to start the series

👋🏻An underrated fantasy writer is Guy Gavriel Kay. He's been writing historical fantasy since the 70s, has been compared to Robin Hobb for gut wrenching skills and Brandon Sanderson is a big fan! The Lions of Al-rassan, A Song for Arbonne, and Tigana are all good places to start- he does mainly one offs!

⚔️ If you want some less talked about fantasy I would read The Great Hunt by Wendy Higgins, Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Evans, The Fairy Bargains of Prospect Hill by Rowenna Miller, The Liars Crown by Abigail Owen, and these vicious masks by Tarun Shanker and Kelly Zekas. These are all fantastic fantasy books that I haven’t heard many people talk about at all! I think you would like all of them a lot! Let me know if you plan to read any of these or add them to your TBR.

Classic fantasy book rec: the belgariad & the mallorean by david eddings (two connected 5-book series) are my all time favourite fantasy series. The world building, characters, character arcs and politics are all very well developed and the series improves so much as you go along. Belgariad follows the main character as a kid/teen and the Mallorean as an adult but it's a continuation of the same plot so heads up don't read the mallorean first

The Tales of Earthsea are aimed at a younger audience though I’m not too sure of the exact demographic. Another younger series worth reading would be the Inkheart trilogy by Cornelia Funke. A great and hilarious murder mystery set in a parodied version of Comic Con would be Bimbos of the Deathsun by Sharyn McCrumb. The final series I will suggest are the Shannara books by Terry Brooks. I’ve only read the first trilogy but like Robin Hobb and Joe Abercrombie, Brooks writes multiple book series set in the same world.

Also YES YES YES to the Ninth Rain Trilogy! Good good. Unique take on vampires and witches, magical creature companions and the most unique bad guy I’ve seen in a while. Would love to re-read it this year 💕

I adore "A Discovery of Witches", the series (All Souls) is one of my favorites, just give it a little bit, I found the first 50-75 pages a little slow, but after that you will be totally hooked!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE 💖

The best fantasy duology I have read for a while is one I don’t see about hardly at all which is heart breaking as it is phenomenal. This duology is The Nightjar and The Rookery by Deborah Hewitt, so underrated and yet it should be a duet that more people sing about ❤

I hope you LOVE the warded man! It was a 5-star read for me and I went straight into the sequel. Same for The Element of Fire and Death of the Necromancer. I love a classic fantasy story where you’re hoping the main character picks the side of good and saves humanity 🤩
