The spread of Buddhism was an exciting, surprising process, driven by smart religious innovations. In Andhra, it came into contact with megalith-worshipping peoples and was transformed by them. Anirudh Kanisetti explains the archaeological facts.

A video on the rise and fall of South Indian Jainism would be much appreciated

It is true that the grip Buddhism as an official religion used to have in ancient India is no longer the case. However, the teachings and views of Buddhist are respected and followed widely by the millions of Indians regardless of their religious faith.

Separating Buddhism from India means destroying an entire Indian history that was so rich and powerful. It is because of Buddhism that Indians can proudly claim for having worlds first and biggest university, known as Nalanda.

I searched ancient South Indian religion and found Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Jainism nd Buddhism.. why are u manipulating by using the thumbnail nd the wrong title lmao 🤣 .. In sangam era ( 800bce acc to modern estimates ), the only visible religions were these. Both Buddhism nd Hinduism spread with metaphysical knowledge nd military might bcos of our ancestors actions. Pls do not sugar-coat one ☠️🤣 nd your theory - people converted to Buddhism bcos of robustly build stupas lol u could give a more sensible one like they saw much more deep Philosophical knowledge when practicing Buddha dharma 😂

We know very little of the history of Karnataka before the Kadambas who ruled in the 5th century. Request you to please make a video and explain the sources available for this period.

the bigger question is that - why and how buddhism despite such a push from mauryas receded and spread in other parts of world

Respecting ancestral burials doesn't necessarily mean it's a religion your interpretation is ridiculous there is no evidence for your interpretation.

A big Buddha statue is built in amaravati to appropriate the place to satavahana time by previous govt . Andhra ikshvaku who were shaivites primarily has commissioned a lot of stupas and Buddhist art ( primarily by their queens ) . One can clearly say that was good period for śilpakala.

Buddhism has not fallen. Whole of East Asia is and always will be Buddhists. Even in India, apparent lack of Buddhism is only an illusion. There's a huge subtle conversion in Maharashtra.

The Buddhist method of meditation was there all over South India in the form of Siddha meditation. What Buddha made difference is that he brought it into light and written form, which the Siddhas in the South thought this system orally. The very name of Siddhartha suggest this.

As i comments before you are twisting making new narrative i can imagine you have biases towards northern India but you should not allow these toward your professionalism most of your video are about Deccan you are not telling history of India you are giving your narrative about Deccan and India is very large north India represented large chunk of India and by degrading north indian u are giving mostly your biases so make video about Deccan region not about North India we are different from Deccan plateau

I would point to an article in Holt's book about the Chaityaka sect in Krishna Valley that was behind the development of stupa design/architecture.
