Hard to believe that Buddhism was once prominent in Afghanistan. I can't imagine Buddhist monks who look like Taliban militants.

The buddhist thripitaka(Pali Canon) was written in Sri Lanka. This contributed a lot to keep buddhism accurate and documented through out the rest of the years. Until then all sutras and sermens were verbally transfered from generation to generation.

Very interesting. All too often do people forget that Buddhism actually started off in India, despite modern India being mostly Hindu and Islamic. Also I like the new animation style!

Interesting. Today, Buddhism is associated with East and Southeast Asians. But at one time, it was the main faith among the ancestors of Indians, Pakistanis, Afghans, Tajiks, even Indo-Greeks.
