This is a hexagonal prism being folded from a 2D net into a 3D object.

This is 1 of 9 computer animations we made and posted to our YouTube channel to show how a 2D net can be folded into a 3D object. This is part of 5th grade math and the Common Core exam in some States.

Some of these 2D nets are harder than others, so you may need to view a video several times or build a model out of paper. Your teacher will give further guidance as to which 2D nets are important to learn.
