Here is Part 1 (16 Bars) of CAVATINA. Don’t forget to click the link above and download the tab and main finger positions before you watch this tutorial. Remember, everything on my site is FREE, so get downloading. All parts of CAVATINA are available from the download but I’ll be breaking the tutorial up into manageable chunks.

It’s funny
I actually know someone who was complaining about not being able to find this song for free, god forbid it coming with a free tutorial, thanks man we appreciate you

It’s true what Rob says, as a self taught 71 year old “guitarist”, Cavatina was a favourite of my wife’s & I decided to learn it for her 50th birthday & yes it took me well over a year to get it off to a listenable standard so she didn’t get “the present” until she well over 50. I try to pick my guitar up every day & play something that I have struggled to learn just to make sure that I don’t forget where my fingers have to go because, trust me, like most things in life, if you don’t use it, you lose it

the best advice given for playing cavatina iv'e not heard on youtube until now, , you don't have to hit the cord shapes straight away add fingers as you go otherwise you will probably not progress from 1st chord shape to the second chord.

Seems nice to follow but I need a lot of "patience" . Hoping much though

Thank you so much for this, it is one my favourite classical guitar pieces and I've longed to have a go but always been afraid to! I'm a bit out of practice as I haven't been able to play much for over 2 years, but I will have a taster of the 1st 4 bars when I can :)

NOTE! Bar 2 on the chord shape pages (after the tab) should be played at the 6th Fret NOT the 5th.

Cheers Rob, I learned this about 30 yrs ago, but stopped playing it, got rusty, then completely forgot it. Gutted. Followed your vids and pleased to say I can now play it all the way through again. Very, very pleased. Many thanks, great friendly clear and accurate tuition. Bill

Thanks Rob, I've been trying to play this since I first heard back in the 70's, since then knack'd my left little finger, so its going to be a stretch to try and play, but will give a try or change hands :-)

I had all but given up trying to play this piece, content that I couldn't learn it because the tutorials are all badly done and fail to explain how to get your fingers around the thing. Now I have discovered this tutorial I have got to sit down and try to learn the thing all over again. Best guitar tutorial on Youtube.
