Special thanks to GEICO for sponsoring this episode!

Mario and Sonic are classic competitors. When you put them in the Olympic setting, though, it feels pretty obvious who would come out on top right? Wrong! I know, I know. You think a plumber like Mario would automatically lose but that's not true! The Olympics have had some WEIRD events. Events that may just put Mario on top!

Just off the top of my head, Mario definitely shoots a gun in a Mario Party 4 mini game and on the Neon Heights board in Mario Party 7.

*Shadow the hedgehog* “Allow me to introduce myself”.

Okay. Sonic being the only competitor wearing a life vest during swimming events is so cute to me

Mario's history with firearms actually goes a long way back. Consider the game Yoshi's safari, which is a light gun first person shooter game where you play as Mario riding on Yoshi's back.

Now I REALLY want to see Solo Synchronized swimming for some reason.
[ ps. Mr Olympics, bring back Club Swinging along with a bit of Tug-O-War too. ]

Lmao I love how at the "beginning it says the show that goes for the gold but ends up with a respectable bronze" and it's #3 on trending rn

I mean dualing is arguably a speed-based sport as well, since they competed to hit targets in tandem. Remember when you duel someone, it doesn't matter how accurate you can be if the other person can shoot you first.

Why are talking about Mario and Sonic when we should be comparing Wario and Dr. Eggman

"Haven't you seen the camera?"
Implying there aren't any cameras recording the Olympics?

I'm glad he didn't say sonic is 80mph at the start and acknowledged that he can go at light speed, I'm happy, it shows him that he's changing

They actually did a version of dueling with ACTUAL HUMAN TARGETS, and apparently the British contender decided to not wear the head protection, saying it was "bad form to aim for the head" He had an injury (duh!)

So I know I am REAAALY late to this one, but I just wanted to point out that Mario has a longer history of guns than we all thought. I think it was on the Super Nintendo (Don't quote me on that) but there was a Mario title that used an accessory to the console that was shaped like a gun. In the game you play as Mario riding on yoshi and he arms himself with a BAZOOKA, and he just goes on to shoot up anyone in his path. Now handling a bazooka and normal guns is a little different obviously, but if we are looking at just experience with guns, Mario has much more experience and would probably be the winner of this event.
