I completely agree with everything you have said here. It's something we aren't taught. We learn to speak and from then it's so easy to keep filling that void. We're taught silence is awkward and usually fill the gap with a question or comment about something unrelated. I know personally I catch myself making noises to fill that space. I'll do a silly gesture or something to cut the tension. It's completely subconscious but this talk definitely reminded me to be more aware and to lean in to the silence more!
