I want to become an animator, and my whole family and friends support me, but I’m scared of myself. There are many factors that scare me about being an animator, but at this point I think I’ll just take the risk to do the job that I like. (I’m on my last year of high school)

I just want to add onto the ego part. If you want to be confident in yourself, you have to accept yourself. Whether you win or totally fail, you have to tell yourself that you accept the fact that you are who you are with these ups and downs and as long as you can accept that and show yourself kindness instead of shame, you'll have great confidence in yourself, because at the end of the day, no matter how many rejections you face, at least you are there to accept you and love yourself.

you only have one life. if this is your dream, then pursue it. I wouldn’t want to live with regrets, and i know if i dont pursue a career in art i wouldn’t be happy. Its a hard risk to take, but in the long run doing something you love everyday with some hard work to get there is so worth it

the burnout is real, i can say, was super excited when i first got hired and became and animator but eventually you keep doing the same thing over and over and over especially if you dont work for a studio. there was a time i didnt learn anything new for about 5 months, only thing that keeps me going is personal projects that forces me to adopt new techniques or plugs in/scripts. And of course i do those personal projects in my spare time, off hours.

I see myself as an artist and storyteller, so that's why I want to become an animator. Found your video inspiring.

I know this video has been around for a while, however, I just wanted to express my gratitude for it. Being an animator can be quite challenging, and even though I love my job, it's easy to feel frustrated, especially when you feel like you're not improving after doing the same thing over and over again.

I'm currently going through one of those moments where you hit rock bottom and feel like you're not worth anything, so I wanted to say thank you because in some way, this video helped my motivation to keep growing and get out of my comfort zone. Thanks, man!

I've been a TV animator for a number of years, and it's nice to hear someone with such a positive attitude toward the job/craft :) I agree with all your points, and being reminded of the good things you talked about here has bolstered my own attitude - no disrespect to my coworkers but sometimes I only hear them talking about the negatives, so this was a nice breath of fresh air, thank you!

I’m in my last year in high school. I’ve always been interested in the idea of animating, making stories, world building and such. I didn’t know if I wanted to be an animator or do something that involves creative game design, ..until I learned that some animation careers can actually cover both- the college classes I went through look amazing and I’m excited to learn. However I am scared of failing or not being hired for work. Otherwise it seems like a fun career

I just started learning 3D animation and am going to Academy of Art for it this summer fresh out of high school. I'm terrified that I won't succeed, or that I won't make it. But sometimes you have to trust yourself, and trust your dream. My dream is to animate films or television programs that encourage healthy child development. It's so important that kids are learning about how to cope with their emotions and find themselves. In any case, thank you so much. It really helps listening to the professionals as a newbie.

I decided to tackle the reality behind being a professional animator, for all those aspiring animators and people just getting started. Would be great to know what you guys think about the subjects above. Drop a comment and let me know if you agree or disagree, and hope some of it rings true with you.

This really changed my mindset because I do worry sometimes of my skills or if I'm falling behind. I'm currently majoring in Computer animation and game arts so this video really helped stay motivated. Thanks!

I don't really have an interest of being very famous, but I would like to somewhat well-known among the animation community in the future.

Love the honest take on being an Animator. I don’t want to animate for others. Just for my stream & maybe some small projects on YouTube. Thanks for the boost of inspiration. :)

Art has been a big part of my life and I always wanted to give life to my art and that's why I fell in love with animation . my family also fully support me. I been trying to self-study as my county don't really have much recognition for animation and stuff so it has been a rough path but I hope to achieve my dreams and goals someday. thanks a lot for the video as well❤❤❤ this have given me the idea of which path to choose and I will continue to improve my skills. thanks a lot again!!!❤❤
