You rock Clay! Coincidentally I worked on these exact feelings the day before you released this. I also worked on shifting my weight earlier than usual. These are feelings I’ve been working on lately and put them all together yesterday. It was one of the best range sessions I’ve ever had! I effortlessly hit average iron distance on a cold and rainy day with range balls. It took barely any effort. I can only imagine warm weather with Pro V1s.

Never a TSG video without a damn bonus video to try to lure you into signing up. Awesome video as always nonetheless as I've struggled with what my right arm is supposed to do in the swing so thanks a lot for that.

@top speed golf - clay ballard 2:53 to 5:00 #money seems like at start of transition right arm width is increasing due to rope drill and then begins to drive into external rotation ... I know it’s splitting hairs but going hardcore narrow at the beginning doesn’t let you pull that rope ... excellent presentation

Very nice lesson Clay. Thanks for posting. Bill.

I'm slowly getting a handle on this concept. It's working for my irons....need to get the woods and driver dialed in. TSG member too.

I’ve fired up my share of lawn mowers, not gonna lie, and although i’ve not come across a “lawn mower chain” i’m a believer that the concept has potential.

Great lesson. The pulling the rope thought/idea prevents me from trying to control/swing the clubhead. At first, it's hard to trust that the clubhead will get down to the ball but it does on its own.

Motion capture has shown that the best players trail arm starts to straighten from the top of the downswing, like Clay demonstrates around the 3.30 mark. To me the previous part of the video where he's driving the elbow down contradicts this feeling as the angle tends to narrow rather than widen when actively doing this. Just extending the trail arm can still keep the elbow close to the body. The other key is that the wrist doesn't throw the club at the same time and therefore cast.

So a good thought on this move would be to supinate the right forearm, extent right wrist, and flex left wrist in transition? Similar to the croker golf system?

Hey man, great video!! I've been trying to get this position with my right elbow under my left arm in the downswing. It's really hard for me to achieve this with my normal swing. At the top of the backswing as i start my downswing, i naturally want to kinda just turn with my shoulders. When I try to achieve this position by doing really light practice swings, I can do it. But as soon as I do a real swing I can't get it. I'm trying to figure out the right feel for me to achieve this. Any advice? But great video. Thank you

Do u use this for only irons, or wedges and drives aswell?

Clay, as always great tutorial but you've covered these drills 5 to 10 times over in previous videos. Can you not start doing some course vlogs? I mean, that should be the next step.

The absolute EASIEST way to make this happen is to get ur hands LOW at setup (have an angle between arms and the shaft) and hold on to that angle instead of having that shaft extending arms straight at setup.... some.... = MANY will feel the toe of the club is a bit up in the air BUT with a small shaft lean in that setup ur already SET-UP for lag and lean hit... SIMPLE way instead of all this thinking

Golf Porn. these nuggz are Golf Porn for me. i played 38 yrs w no instruction or lessons and bogey player.
Your "Feels and Reals" tips and the descriptions are almost visceral when going over positions and vectoring of the body parts.
⛳️👏🏽 indeed.
